Unwritten posting rules for OT?

Aight well, originally this was a thread asking people if they could click my unique link for this one online game KoC. There are a bunch of other games like it online, you click on some one's link and they get a guy for their army. Anyway, after a quick 10 mins I got like 4 bad post, so I took it off. But I still don't understand why people are tripping about it. Ncircle was nice enough to let me know that he thinks if I left it up it might get locked, but there aren't any rules for posting in Off Topic, unlike Hot Deals and For Sale? So whats the prob? So whats the unwritten rules around here? I mean if you guys don't like the thread, move on to the next right?

The kid definitely has a point... and at least he's being nice about it. There is a lot of intolerance around here... people who think they're better than everyone else...

Rule #1: Don't say "aight".

Rule #2: Don't post links to those things where "you click on some one's link and they get a guy for their army. "

Rule #3 Or those things where the scary face jumps out and screams at you and you yell like a little girl while you try to close the window before you piss your pants.

Rule #4: If you're thinking of posting something lame, or stupid, or old, think things through. Ask yourself, "Should I post this POS on ATOT? No, of course not, I think I'll post it in a AOL chat room where it belongs."

If one or more of "The Rules" dictate that posting the item in question would be a bad idea, don't do it. What you posted could be handled under two of those rules, and should not be posted here.

Well thanks for making some rules up on the fly for me. As much as I want to believe everyone is against the word 'Aight', its just a hard rule to live by.

But why rule #2? Are there really not any people here who play these types of games? Or is this Off Topic way too serious a forum to post this stuff? I mean, its taking up possible thread room for more serious topics like Janet's b00bies, or finding your Spouse's p0rn.

Forgive me for not posting about life altering questions or how I found love on yahoo (which I gave :beer::beer: for). Anyway, its just seems like some of you guys live to crap on threads, especially without reason. If you guys think its stupid, don't reply and let the thread die..
