An Education was another very lame, predictable movie that i have no idea how it got nominated for best picture. I had no idea going in what it was going to be about except that it was about a schoolgirl in 1960's UK. the boyfriend was creepy and although he played the part well the story really just sucked. Only thing i liked about it was how well they portrayed how 1960's UK looked like.like an education
men who stare at goats....
overrated disappointing stuff.

What I like about Hurt Locker was it didnt have a pro-war or anti-war message. It divulged into how they react to life and death situations when they are forced to deal with it everyday. The film was more of a psychological study than a war movie.
it was a british after school special.
dunno what the hubub was about.
and yea this years oscars was weak sauce.
voting for an iraq film just because it didn't suck total balls. avatar had its own lameness once you got past the fx. least worst was inglorious basterds, tarentino got robbed.
as for michael clayton..gag, that was hamfisted and predictable
I like it when movies turn out to be more realistic and true to life then they are in traditional movies. I thought it was a great twist in the plot.
Precious was much better than any of the other Films up for an Oscar for Best Film...
Hurt Locker, intense at times, but lazy...
Up In the Air, entertaining but not lasting...
Avatar, the smurfs meet pocahontas (and extremely predictable)...
An Education, boring...
The Blind Side, cool story, but cheesy...
Inglourious Basterds, not even in the top 3 (or even 5) Tarantino movies...
A Serious Man, forgettable (and not in the regular Coen brothers way)...
District 9, very entertaining movie, but not Oscar material...
Up, surprisingly good movie, needed to decide if it was a kids film or for a more mature audience...
Precious, intense, shot brilliantly, great acting from some unexpected sources, definitely one to remember...

Erm, I disagree. If I were to rank all 10, I would probably go:
1. Inglourious Basterds
2. A Serious man
3 - 7 (in some order Precious, Hurt Locker, Education, Up in the Air, D9)
8. Up
9. Avatar
10. The Blind Side
