I'm an indoor cycling instructor and one of my tasks this week is to teach a class Friday that includes songs about America. At the time, I thought it would be trivial to find such songs, but it's proving to be more difficult than I thought.
For those that are musically inclined, songs between 120-130 BPM tend to do the trick, especially those that have slower portions and then intense pickups. I also need a few songs that are consistently 110 BPM isn for the entire song. For the right song, you can also divide the BPMs in two (IE: 60-65 ish BPM instead of 120-130 BPM).
The only real requirements for any song suggestion is that it should be upbeat - something you'd be willing to put on your running/jogging playlist but anything top 40-ish/dance would work - and something to do with america / patriotism / 4th of July. It can also be by "well known" American artists and doesn't actually have to talk about America in the song. For instance, Bon Jovi or Billy Joel perhaps?
I would forever be grateful for any suggestions! Beer on me if I use your song suggestion.
