to round out the list that I already posted in this thread...

other items in this coming week in DOTD (unless the product managers switch it out at the last minute which they have the ability to do....)

Zenith DVD player, a Ricoh digital camera, and the canon bj-1000 that accidently went up briefly this morning w/ the description and pricing of the proxima projector which was the real DOTD..


on a side note, because of this morning and similar issues in the past w/ DOTD, there's a highly probably chance that yours truly is going to be rewriting the system..dunno yet...but if I do, I may be asked to close the gap right now in which all you guys can order as many of a DOTD as you guys want.. sorry, it's my job...

about your question regarding coupons...
if you do in fact use a coupon and then cancel the order....that coupon code DOES get attached to your eAccount meaning you can't use the coupon code again.

I believe that you can however contact a CSR (customer service rep) and he/she'd be obligated to come tell the IT guys to then go to your account and untag your account w/ that coupon code. We do not have an automated system to reset coupons upon cancellations like that.

Your other option is to create a new account w/ a different credit card and you could then reuse that coupone code (or anyother coupon for that matter) with the new account

Matt - unsure of free shipping days + coupon...whatever the normal policy is, it'll be in effect next time as well...those are the kind of rules that seldom ever change..just read the fine print next time a porn popup w/ the free shipping details comes around...

KenDogg - I don't know what items we do DOTD on until they're entered into the system.. they're begining to spec out a whole new system to do DOTD to be more error free and robust, and I'd be the lead developer on it...the new system we're talking about would probably be similar to what we have now, in which about a week's worth of items are put into the system at one time...

And I am in fact part japanese, but only a very very small part.. the nickname is a long story which I won't get into....but those on EFNET may have heard of me before....

oh yeah...one more thing...
turns out my request to the electronics store guy to get me a Sampo DVD player (one of the region free ones, their 620/660/650 series) may be to the benefit of everyone..

turns out he's now trying to finagle out a few hundred out of Sampo North America exclusively to buy.com to do a DOTD w/.... (The electronics store manager is a personal friend of Sampo NA's president)

Could you give us some kinda notification when there's going to be a particularly good DotD the next day? It's a real pain to stay up until 2 AM and see a $999 projector that 99% of us couldn't use or, worse yet, checking at 8 AM only to find a $99 DreamCast that's been sold out for five and a half hours.
