Upcomming MMORPG

What do you guys think is the most popular upcomming MMORPG? I was into Evercrack for a while, then Anarchy Online. I missed Starwars Galaxies and WOW. So what do you think the next Hit game will be?

I hear dark and light is supposed to be REALLY good. Huge world (and when I say huge I mean absolutly huge) and some very innovative and fun ideas. Could either be really good or a bust in my opinion.

Dungeon's and Dragons, and Lord of the rings are both being developed by Turbine. They're a sucessful and experianced company, so I have some hope for them.

Played DAOC for 2.5 years and then WOW for 6 months. WoW got stale real fast so i am going to try Dark and Light's stress test and see if it is worth it.

Looks like a cool concept so far but so did WoW hehe.

I just read up about this dark and light thing. Sounds like an awesome idea to have it all on one server..but in reality..I REALLY DOUBT this is gonna work. If a huge company like blizzard cant keep their servers lag free I dont see how they coudl do it. Yes i read about the server technology and sure its possible..but we all know that technology always sounds good on paper but things dont always work out they way they are planned. Also this game doesnt seem to be well known. Just by looking at the forums and info about it ...it seems like it could be well put together but they need some marketing guys on this stat.

Also they say realse date is around November 05...last time i checked...thats next month. Their website has some info on classes and stuff but not enough..it seems like if it was this close to release they would have more info out trying to get people excited about it..

Yeah I have noticed that RadioHead, but I have noticed that there is a lot of that kind of information in theirs forums, but you have to dig for it. You are however very right when you say that no one knows about it. It seems to have a great concept, but no one knows about it.

Well I signed up for the Dark and Light beta test. its looks kinda cool after reading throught the website. but your right there isnt enough infor on the site to really get a good idea of game play. i hope i get into the beta.

It has been done before, EVE is a single server setup. They have had upto 14,000 people on at once I believe.

Wow, nobody's mentioned Vanguard yet? Its frontman is Brad McQuaid, the guy who came up with EverQuest, and he has much of the original EQ team with him. I have high hopes for this title. Starting with EQ's Planes expansion, there hasn't really been an MMORPG out there worth playing (though I'll admit I'm an addict and am currently playing WAY too much WoW - but it just doesn't compare).

hell yeah...i loved Dune 2, dune 2000 was okay, didn't get much of a chance to play emperor

Pirates of the Burning Sea looks pretty good so far. I signed up for the beta, and am currently waiting to hear back from them. I hope I can get in, as the gameplay looks fun and engrossing.
