[Update 1/6/2017]
The procedure was done a week ago @ 9am. I was told to sleep immediately for 3-5 hours. I did just that. By that very evening, I was able to see already. It's surreal looking at the digital clock with such clarity.
I have several concerns:
1. My left eye is tack-sharp @ 20/20 within hours after surgery. But my right eye is not. I'm concerned the procedure wasn't done correctly. At the 1-day check up, the doctor said it's too early to tell as it's healing and each eye heals differently. Well it's been a week since, and my right eye continues to lag behind. And I'm concerned it may not be due to healing because my right eye at close-up & arm's length distance is crystal clear.
2. My left eye is bit dimmer than right eye. If I alternate by blinking while staring an a screen, my left eye is noticeably 'dimmer' as if brightness was downed turn by -15 or so like on a monitor.
Tomorrow's is my 1-week checkup, will be mentioning these.
----------
Getting it done by Lasik Vision Institute- one of the many bigger 'franchises' in US. The actual surgeon is a Harvard med, for what it's worth. LVI was my second opinion. I saw LasikPlus first.
Both are quite professional with tons of experience. I even asked them, "both of you are all custom bladeless lasik, so what's the difference?" They just said, nothing much aside from experience of surgeons.
I'm getting a traditional LASIK. I do understand everyone can't avoid presbyopia as they age, but I'll never need glasses again for distance viewing at least.
It was $3,500~ for both eyes with a lifetime coverage. Then they gave us news of the December special which knocks $1,000 off. So $2,500 is the bill.
Any last words for me? Scare stories?
