And that's why unlike the Nexus 5, they're not exactly selling like hotcakes (Google nomenclature: "didn't perform as expected"). It only got a bit better after the price cuts.They've been doing that with the Nexus 6 and 6P, granted both can be had for much less thanks to sales.
Google never seems to learn. It like how they keep removing features, randomly killing things (Buzz, Groups) and making duplicate apps (Allo, Duo)
Frankly speaking, the state of mobile has deteriorated in the last few years. Android is the mess we all know and Apple's interfaces are stuck 2 years in the past. Maybe iOS 10 will change that and entice me but I don't expect it to. I'll just have to impotently fume at Google.
