UPDATE: Antec Sonata 69.99 After $30 Rebate @ Fry's BA

Was in the Palo Alto Fry's and picked up an Antec Sonata for 109.95 with a 30 dollar mail in reabte from Antec. I checked the Sunnyvale Fry's and they had the exact same price.

UPDATE:

Till Tuesday the price of the Sonata is 99.99 out the door with a 30 mail in rebate. Total price: 69.99 + taxes

pretty good price. Is the rebate exclusive to Fry's only, or is it good at any retailer? I searched the antec site, and found nothing regarding rebates.

I got that case at the sunnyvale Fry's a few months ago for $79 without any rebates.
This helps if you own a time machine... Seriously, though.. I think they put this case on sale fairly frequently.

I didn't purchase one of them, so I don't know if the rebate is for Fry's only or if it relates to any retail chain.

I checked on Outpost.com, which also lists the 30 dollar rebate, but it is of no help to a degree. The rebate form linked is from January 2003, so that is of no use. But, if you look at the form, it lists the Antec Sonata case with Fry's/Outposts SKU#3558634, which leads me to believe it is Fry's/Outpost specific.

Very nice case. Good and quiet however, there is a fine line between silence and cooling. This case treads that line pretty well unless you live in an extremely warm enviroment.

But, with a good water-cooling solution, this case might be the quietest computer ever.

hum, im in houston, it gets as hot and humid like the amazon forest some days.

now im thinking twice about the getting the case. it may be too quiet and too warm. im not into the water cooling either.

The Renton, WA Fry's also had this listed in their Friday ad. Dunno if they have any left, but there was a big stack of Sonata boxes in the computer department when I was in there Wednesday.

I just got my Sonata at 69 at Best Buy. They pricematch the 119 down to 99 plus i got the 30 MIR from them to. Cool deal for me since frys was OOS. The manager for the computer dept was really cool since that best buy doesnt price match frys because it wasnt a "local" competitor. they have some sort of mile radius for pricematch. the last sonata case though.

actually, i picked one up on saturday and it was the $69 AR price. however, i had to ask a sales guy to check, since it was listed on their ad posted at the front of the store. he even had to check with a manager b/c he thought it might have been $69 with **no** rebate. alas, no such luck. still it's a good price. when i got mine they had about 10 left.
