I got an email of a $10 off 40/ 20 off 100 coupon. I also printed out a rebate form before they changed the dates. It states it is valid 11/18/2001 to 12/31/2001 and is due by 1/10/2002. LMK if you need it.

For those that managed to snag this drive and have a receipt to prove it:

Circuit City is selling this for $100 with 2 rebates - one for $20 and one for $40. Go to CC web site and search for Pacific Digital.

If they'll pricematch Staples, you can make money on the drive. Usually CC gives me grief pricematching, but no more grief PMing to a receipt than PMing to an ad.

If they'll pricematch it to $24.70 price, you can end up with $35 profit.

If they PM to $34.70, you still end up with $25 profit.

If they PM OK, but deny your rebate (the $40 rebate goes to New Rochelle, which has bad reputation for rebate fulfillment, the $20 to Young America which is pretty good), you'll still end up with a cheap drive, although perhaps not as cheap as it should be.

If they deny the PM, you are SOL.

Was able to score on this today. The second store I tried had one in the "back". I asked the clerk to look for one
for me and after he gave it to me I said that the price should be around $35.00. He asked me how I knew this.
I just laughed and he mentioned FW and others.

Anyway I brought it to the counter and used the 10 off 30 to end up with about $28.00 after tax. Now for the
$20.00 rebate which I will fill out tomorrow.

I am a little leary of Pacific Digital though. Wll keep photo copies and keep badgering them for my rebate though.
I have been pretty successful with all my rebates in the past.

I am also going to try CC tomorrow and see what I can do. I saw the $40.00 off rebate that they are
offering and it is worth a shot as far as I am concerned. They can just refuse the PM with the Staples
store receipt. I will give them a hard time though.

Will post my results.

god knows how I missed this thread (i miss a lot of threads) but i read it at FW, and today I went to a "rural" staples in NJ (yes NJ --- the place where the deals die first) and scored the last external usb drive...wouldn't accept the $10 off $10 coupon, but they said I could come back with the $10 off $40 tomorrow...the drive itself is pretty sweet looking, mostly a clear translucent color...

anyway, i'm assuming the deal started here, so thanks for posting

for anyone that has tested the external usb drive, what programs are compatible with it? the latest cdrwin and fireburner can't find the drive, though nero did (but i need something that'll burn bin/cue's, and if i'm not mistaken nero only burns one track bins...)

I wouldn't change the title. Should it would have helped, but clearly it states B&M in the text and people
are still looking online. Exactly, which part of the B&M in the text is confusing? BTW, nice deal.

I tried the Pacific Digital Burner that I picked up last week. Worked like a
charm duplicating about 4 CDs that I had to copy quickly.

No complaints about it at all.

BTW I then sold it for $58.00. I have others so I don't need this one.

Crud, the pacific digital rebate expired yesterday I would have liked to have picked up one of the USB burners at $32.50 too. Hmm, wonder if there is anyway I could still get it at that price?

Wrongo wasssup - I was in my local Staples in Charleston, SC late Monday and they had 3 of the USB Pacific Digital ones MARKED at the $62.50 price. I thought about it, but they will only go on Egay for about $60-70. Just didn't seem worth it to me to tie up $56 (with tax), sell it and make $10, then wait for a $20 rebate.
