update: cold: Networking clearance @ Staples B&M!! *varies according to location*

The Staples I work at (Richardson, TX) is clearing out pretty much all of the networking stuff they previously had and replacing it with all new stuff. Most of the clearance stuff was DLink and Linksys. I saw a crapload of DLink 10/100 NICs (PCI) for $3.20, some wireless PCI 10/100 cards for about $20, some PCMCIA wireless cards for $20, wireless access points for $45, etc. It may vary from store to store but I'm pretty sure all the new stores are going to carry the new stuff for the new planogram, so check with your local Staples. EDIT: Ok this morning at 7 AM a guy came in and wiped us out of all the clearance stuff that we had marked. $600 worth of networking stuff. I will mention though: prices are based off managerial discretion: pretty much all the prices I had originally mentioned were half of what they came up in the system as. (A guy yesterday marked everything down half off) I think we marked everything half off because we have a good 12-16 totes full of it still sitting in the back. It may or may not be marked down again, I honestly don't know.

This AM I picked up a Netgear USB ethernet adapter for 19.50 and a Linksys router (BEFSR11 ver 2) for 35.50. Handed them a 15 off 50 Office Depot coupon for a total of $40.00 plus tax.

i work at staples here in vt.. and i can confirm that we are indeed killing alot of stuff from networking.. we got a crapload of belkin and netgear new stuff and the old stuff just has to go... luckly i dont have to do the planogram

samgoody - depends on your location. I can't say if your local store has anything good left or not. (If you're talking about the one I work at - Coit & Campbell - pretty much everything is left)

blots - planograms are the layouts of the product on the shelf. (X goes here, Y goes next to X, Z goes on the other side of X, etc.) I'll try to get some SKU numbers or more specific product names tomorrow. (Have to be at work at 6:30 in the friggin morning :| )

freebee - the planogram isn't too bad - just an 8 foot section, with the networking cables being moved to the middle. (It's all new product anyway so you don't have to fool with sorting out all the old stuff)

No wireless deals at the King of Prussia Staples. They had the Linksys wireless ap/router and pc card in the black and blue boxes, but they scanned at full price. Didn't inquire about other stuff.

Ok so I went to one Richardson Staples on Coit for you Dallas ppl, anyway I kinda got lost to the other one I'm leaving for there now. Anyway Store on coit has.

2x Linksys Phoneline Network over Phone line Model HPN100 for $20

This all appears to be valid they had a whole bunch of Netgear and Belkin wireless stuff with "New Item" stickers on it.
Anyway I'm out I'll keep the forum updated.

ai42 - yea that was all that was left after that one guy came at 7 in the morning.

That's what we had this morning before we got wiped out. Everything at the store was marked half off. NOT ALL STORES WILL HAVE IT MARKED HALF OFF!!!!!!!!! It may or may not go back to being marked down, I don't know.

Oh and to the guy who came in this morning at 7: where were your precious cash cards buddy? We are onto you and your scam - every store in the area knows about you and the crap you pull - no one is going to take it anymore. Just a friendly warning.

Ok went out to the other Richardson store the one on Belt Lne & Plano Rd

They had a TON of stuff. I picked up 3x Dlink Wireless cards for $44.50.
Ok so I was looking around trying to decide how much money I can spend without my gf getting too mad at me. Then some Staples guy comes over and takes down ALL of the networking stuff. Seriously the shelf was bare, I asked him if they were being clearanced. But apparently he told me Staples is dropping Dlink and Linksys products in favor of Belkin and Netgear products. And that the rest of the stock would be sent back to the manufactuer!? I don't know about the manufacuter part, but he insisted that they were not going to be sold after he took them down. So I got my 3 cards and left. On they way back I figured I'd stop by the Coit store again. BTW the LAN over Phone cards were gone. I figured I had spent too much money but as how the first post implied that there were $20 Wireless cards I figured I would act stupid. So I got one of the wireless cards I just got and said I wanted to return it. He of course asked for the reciept which I said was in my car, and asked him to price check it anyway. I figured they could refund me the differance but apparently its no good, same price.
