<< dont do the deal. if they have an all sales final policy, goure stuck with the rdram. >>

So did your family advisor also tell you that if you pay for a CAR and receive a shopping cart instead, youre stuck with the shopping cart?

They are clearly selling Kingston 512MB PC2100 DDR. The web page states that and the order confirmation states that. That all the info paypal and I need.

P.S. All Sales are final generally means that no returns are allowed, it doesnt mean that they can sell you something other then what you paid for.

If you go to the gogocity website, they have this

KINGSTON 512MB DDRAM PC2100 NON ECC CL2.5 (KVR266X64C25/512)

Our Price: $139.00

------------------------

and from the auctionwatch link, they do say that retail is 129-149 and also, the part numbers do match.

so go figure?

if this is in fact RDRAM, is this not worth it?

ok, from the front page:

KINGSTON 512MB DDRAM 512MB DDR CL2.5 PC2100
" Brand New "
it's not refurbished or used...

Retails for $129.00~$149.00 Blowout sale !!!

So if it sells for $85+shipping, its a reasonable "Blowout" price...

As far as being a good deal at $85, it is.... Comparable crucial memory sells for $158....almost twice as expensive

I am willing to bet that once the AuctionWatch.com Storefront template set up, it doesnt need to be updated. The actual items for sale is populated from an inventory that you can populated using a windows utility that they provide(I used auctionwatch for auctions a couple times, very convenient). So what that "last updated" means is probably the Storefront template for GOGOCity was updated in October. The prices that they list as retail prices for 512MB DDR are pretty 2002

Actually that is incorrect. My business law book clearly states that a "all sales final" policy does not relieve a vendor from incorrect or damaged products. Implied merchantable warranty still applies if they are a vendor. For individuals selling items it would, but for businesses, they would have to make good on the deal. It just means after you receive the correct product that is working (since this is advertised as working). As-is and "all sales final" are two different things.

i was a little sketchy on the details, but the point i was trying to get across is that:

If you make the order and you do get the RDRAM, you'll spend a lot of time on the phone and have a lot of headaches getiing your 512 stick, should they decide to honor the price.

he told me not to knowingly jump into a shady deal, which this is IMO. the site has an update time stamp of last YEAR, a CSR told me that the price on a 512 kingston pc2100 stick is $139, and the website obviously shows something radically different.

Well, Psychoandy, the less people order it, the more likely it will be fullfilled. But for further reference, read my reply regarding the last years time stamp

<< My advice...pass on this one. RAM prices are coming down in the near future. >>

I can tell you one thing. RAM prices are *not* coming down at all in the near future. Remember back when it was about $20 bucks for 128MB SDRAM? And people kept saying it is going to go down even more, well, those times are over. You will never see 128MB SDRAM for $20 bucks unless it is worthless. DDR has increased in price dramtically, and will be stable at those prices since Hynix went out of business. Micron is calling the shots now, and they are increasing prices. Everyone else is following.

Not a good company. They seem to have a lot of price/part number misprints. Customer service is very subpar. Took them weeks to finally tell me that the chip I ordered was mispriced, even after I called and they told me it was being shipped everytime I called. Buyer Beware!!

Well, this was a good ride, but they denied my paypal payment because I was shipping to work as opposed to my confirmed home address.. and now when I try to ship it to my home address, the item is no longer available.... Oh well, I just saved myself $200
