I noticed both of the HP rebates say "original UPC/barcode label for the qualifying HP product." How did you guys get around this in order to get both rebates?

FYI, I just called the HP rebate center and they said absolutely no way will anyone receive both the hp $100 rebates. Yes, it says they are combinable with other hp offers, but they said this means the free floppy or a printer deal, but NOT with each other. I asked 5 different ways, it is obvious they have had this question 1000 times, and the answer is a complete and definite no way will you get both. Sorry to break the bad news. It is still a pretty good deal for $650 with tax, but I plan to pass...sigh...

I was actually able to get the 100 off 1000 coupon on top of this. So I walked out with 2 P4 laptops @ 1.7 GHz, a DVD drive, and all the rest for $700+tax=$742. I'll get 2 out of 3 rebates for each (I assume) and get it for a total for 542 each including tax.

It's a pretty nice deal even for $599. I got my ze4101 for $510 after taxes, but a larger screen and faster processor are well worth the difference.

Just checked my order status. I placed my order on the 23rd and it was slated to arrive on 01/14/03, but now it comes up as being cancelled? what the heck? I also ordered that USB floppy, but looks like I won't be able to get the rebate on that since the rebate requires the laptop to work.

Royally screwed over by Staples.

I just got this laptop from FedEx today. Was surprised, because I wasn't expecting it until the 16th Jan. I ordered on Dec 26th. They said it was
the first of 2 boxes, but everything seems to have come in the one?

Very nice, except... 1 bad pixel near the middle of the screen (14.1" XGA) which can be seen with dark backgrounds (stuck green)
It's not bad, but it bugs me since I know it's there. You may want to check this before ripping the UPC label off the box for the rebates.
I sent in the HP and Staples $100 + $100 rebates as soon as I got it.

I've been hounding the thread on obese wallet. Someone said a Staples CSR called them and said the laptops should be shipped on Thursday or Friday from Taiwan.
I ordered mine on the 12/21 and still have not got it. Some people who ordered the Celeron's have received their's already.
I probably won't get mine till next week I ordered a P4 1.7 with a 15" XGA screen.

Mine's suppose to arrive on the 14th, p4 1.7ghz.. and ready to send the rebates.. i've already received the USB HP Floppy, so i can get $50 back on that + $100.00 from Staples + $100.00 from HP = $250 MIR expected..

Staples accepts copies on the $100.00 MIR, since you gotta send the originals at HP for their $100.00 MIR

Now, Staples does not need the originals cause they know i placed my order, plus i used the Staples card, so there's clearly a record of my purchase.

Got all documents ready and stamped... waiting on the 14th.. hopefully no longer delays..

The 14th ? That date doesn't mean anything . You should be able to track you laptop at fedex.com . I can't Post some pics and a review if you have your laptop already .

Friday last wk I call'd Staples to check on my order, they said Fedex would call w/in 24 hrs with the tracking #. No call so I called back today and was told that they don't use Fedex only UPS or local carrier. Mine is going by local so no way to track. Hmmmmm. No-joy for me using the 9 zero & order number method.
Mine is due 1/15/2003 so hopefully it shows up. My card was charged shortly after I ordered it on the 24th. Pretty lousy that it takes almost a month to get an online order fulfilled.
Oh, well. I'll suffer a little for my wife to get a $700 lappy.

EDIT: By the way, my order has said shipped since the 27th. Go figure.
