Picture of the problem

I thought it was the video card but I switched it out and I still have the problem I have tried this on two different motherboards still the same problem. Windows installs perfectly with no problems and the screen looks fine as soon as it finishes the intallation and loads windows I get a messed up image. Could it be my hard drive? Maybe my power connections are wrong?

I didnt know this was possible but I went ahead and took the hard drive from my pc downstairs and just plugged it in to my new computer, guess what it booted up perfectly with no problems and the screen looked good. Is this possible? or could there be another problem?

thank you

This is just a shot in the dark, but have you tried booting up in safe or VGA modes?

Then it's a driver issue most likely. Boot in to safe mode, uninstall your current video drivers, then install the latest drivers.

Yes it probably is a driver. Your Video Drvier may be conflicting with another driver from a differant piece of hardware. After removing and reinstalling your video driver, try removing other drivers from your computer and reboot. Keep doing this untill the possible conflict has been resolved.

I am trying to find the link for the GeForce driver removal tool. Use it.

There is an official version, but I know this one works.

Also, you did a good job of swaping parts. But Always check the PSU when diagnosing video troubles.

The refresh rate might be out of range. I have a 17" Princeton that goes wako at any refresh rate above 60 hz. Of course all the video drivers default to a higher refresh rate when first installed. I have to plug in an old CRT and change the refresh rate to 60 hz. Turn off computer and then switch to the flat panel and then everything works fine.

In safe mode you are not loading drivers and are probably at 60 hz.

If it boots perfectly in Safe Mode, it most likely the video driver or settings. While in Safe Mode go to Display Settings and then set the resolution starting with 1024/768 and the refresh rate at minimum. If the pics is good then start increasing the resolution and also the refresh rate until the pic becomes distorted. If from the get go the pics is distorted the driver is faulty. Try installing updated drivers. If the problem is still there, you might have a problem with the hdd. Try re-installing the OS again, this time make sure you format the hdd first or what they call clean slate. Nice LCD though! It'll be great if you can make it work.
