Not sure how the mods will feel about that referral link... It's not your referral, true, but it's not making anand any $ either! Great deal, in any case.

Staples has it for $249 and if you use one of those 30 off 100 that brings it down to $219 and then $50 rebate makes it $169ish

DealSpreeDotCom: I think that's what Azinicus was saying. It's not nice for you "Senior Members" to pick on us "Members".

A little better. A Graphite Colored Visor Deluxe

Pricematch Here for $225
with Staples.com, use a $40 off $200, so 225-40 = 185 - $50 MIR = $135. I dunno about shipping and stuff.

I want to pick one of these up on Sunday at my local Staples, someone once told me that you could print off your online shopping cart with the coupon code listed and the B&M store will honor it??

is this true, also how hard is it to price match online??

thanks

Pricematching depends on the CSR. Normally they charge you 2nd air delivery.

Oh, check this out, staple is selling the handspring for $249.99, and they are offering a $50 rebate when you purchase the Targus Keyboard, $99.99. So for about $200 you can get a handspring visor and keyboard.

$249.99 - $40 (Coupon) - $50 rebate = $149.99 for just the visor or:
$99.99 (keyboard) - $50 rebate= $49.99
Total $199.98

I ordered a Visor Deluxe from Staples.com yesterday morning and used the $40 off $200 coupon. Imagine my surprise in reading this thread late yesterday afternoon. I've contacted Handspring about getting in on the rebate since my Visor was ordered 5 days before the rebate period and will arrive 2 days before the rebate period. They're response was "no". If they had provided advanced notice about the rebate, I would have waited until 3/4 to order it.

I contacted Staples about this too. I told them if something couldn't be worked out about the rebate to either cancel my order or I'll refuse shipment (I'll then reorder on Sunday--what a waste for them and me!). It seems to me that what I'm asking is fair, and certainly not out of the question.

Have any of you folks ran into this before (rebate popping up out of nowhere right after you've purchased the item)?

I'm pretty sure you can take it back to Staples for a refund for whatever reason you want within 15 days or so. Then reorder it with the rebate. I took two monitors back in 4 days there because they had problems IMHO, and they took em. They even refunded me the coupon code money too....lol. I almost felt bad. Then I felt lucky!

Ok, sounds like my wait for a PDA is over. Now I was wondering if somebody over here could help me with .."What is the difference between a Palm PDA and a Handspring PDA"? How do they compare on price/perfiormance... I know the people who made handspring were earlier employees of Palm.
Would you all sugest that i wait for a deal on Palm or should I just get this? I am totally iliterate in this area.

any help will be appreciated
thanks

So, are you guys going to wait and purchase this on 3/4? or are you purchasing now and trying to use the rebate anyway?

Great find, and I'd be all over this if it weren't for the fact that I got my Palm IIIxe back during Christmas, and with all the combined rebates, it came out to shipping cost only for me. Ok, ok, so I'm bragging, sue me. I still may jump in on it and fleabay it, if I can really get Staples to honor that price.

Anyway, the real reason I responded was to help out ajaju. As far as I've ever seen, the only real differences between a Palm and a Visor is the fact that one is made by Palm, and the other is made by Visor. While I have a Palm IIIxe, I have several friends who have Visors, and they love them. Same OS (Palm), so there's no shortage of software for them, and the Visor actually has a nice expansion port where you can add on an MP3 player, modem, or several other things, most of which escape me at the moment. Other than that, it's all in looks. While I personally think my Palm looks a tad more professional in it's all black design, many people like the looks of the Visor as well. Not too much of a biggy in my book. But having the Palm OS on a Visor makes them practically identical. Just my 2 cents' worth.

Thanks for a great find Seizure!

The only useful feature I think Glottis missed is that the expansion port can be converted to a Compact Flash port for memory expansion. I heard somewhere that CF expansion cards can only store files, not programs (or rather, not programs that you want to run from your Visor/PocketPC without copying them to internal memory)...but that could be only rumor. Can anyone confirm/refute this? Thanks!

One more difference: Palm IIIxe uses serial port and Handspring Visor Deluxe comes with a USB cradle (serial cost extra).
