Update: Issues with new Albatron 5900NU

Just picked this card up from Newegg.
Stock speeds are 405/810. The overclocking is really confusing me. At 450/900, there are no artifacts, 3dmark runs through fine, Madden plays perfectly.
However, Jedi Academy played perfect at first, then I tried again with AA/aniso on, and it crashed on me. The card came with some Duke Nukem sidescroller, so I messed with that, and at 450/900, it locks up the system completely. Rebooted, repeated with 875. Same. 850. Same. 825. Same. I just clocked it back up, then tried to run a Q3 demo loop for awhile, but it locked up the system after 5-10 minutes. Temps were fine, no higher then 70 C.

I tried the auto detect on coolbits, and it said like 470/940 was safe. My speeds were a lot lower then that. What gives?
Oh yeah, using 53.03 drivers.

Just ran the Duke game on stock speeds...locked up again. Got a bit further, but still a lockup. Somethings amiss..

If it locks up at stock speeds, get it replaced.

Saying that if you just bought it you shouldnt need to RMA it, you should be able to get it swapped right?

I've RMAed the card, but now I'm having problems with my Ti4200. I went back to the old drivers, 30.82, because when I use newer drivers, like 45.32, I will occasionally get a lockup where the screen turns into a multicolored checkerboard during regular surfing. But now, I have problems in Madden, where I will eventually get lockups as I play, or have a lockup when I try to select practice from the main menu. WTF??

Sounds like your video card was fine. You either have some kind of driver issue or your Motherboard is packing it in. May want to Re-install Windows before RMAing anything else though.

It can't be a driver issue...I've tried all kinds of drivers. I don't know what else I can do, and I really don't want to do a reinstall.

Trust me, it *can* be a driver issue. It may not be the Video drivers though.

might be bad memory. Are you overclocking your CPU?

What brand/model power supply do you have? Also, did you use Driver Cleaner or Detonator Destroyer (or similar tool) to remove the 50.xx series of drivers before trying anything else? Changing videocards (even amongst the same brand) without completely cleaning the drivers and software from the older card can cause problems with any new videocard used in your setup.

I have had problems with the new NVIDIA dirvers. Try previous drivers until you get it right. My Pc would completely lock up as well. Tried other drivers until it worked.

regardless of what you may think now about your memory, it could be erroneous

It seems to be a heat issue. I have a post in Cooling forum about it. The memory checked out good overnight.
