*update* no boot when connect my sata hdd to powersupply

no its not there, am i supposed to take the 4 off the 24 and plug it in?

this has a picture of all the cables (that should be there):

the 4 at the end of the 24 has the same "key design" as the 4pin 12v

shoulda done a little more research, but what should i do now?

LOL since when does the ecs break apart. thanks for trying to help, i wish ultra had put somewhere that the 8pin breaks apart.

Look again, it's there.Last plug on the right.
I didn't read the whole ad but if this PSU is modular call the company, if not call the company, The listing says it is.

Buy an adapter for the 4 pin plug 4 pin 12v<-------------4 pin molex. May be cheaper than sending that PS back to the MF. As mentioned earlier, there may be a plug missing, call the manufacturer.

what motherboard are you going to plug it into? I would think that if the mobo has either the 20/24 pin and an additional 4 pin they need to be pluged in I think the corsair im getting the main power plug is 24 pin but if the mobo is a 20 pin socket four of the pin can be taken out. then it has a seperate 4 pin atx plug

Now if your motherboard is an older one with a 20 pin socket instead of a 24 pin socket, then the 4 pins break away as you see circled in the reddish color (MSpaint JPG compression is aweful) and you only plug in the remaining 20 pins. That attached 4 pins does NOT go to the 4 pin 12V connection. The one I circled in blue does.

sorry guys, i found my answer in my second post, the 8pin breaks off into 2 4pins, go figure.

but now i have a new problem, my computer wont boot if i have my sata hdd plugged in to the power supply, and ive tried all 4 sata power connectors and a molex to sata connector. not my day i suppose

can you get into bios? Sata must be configured in the bios.

you have boot when no hdd is connected ?

If you can get the bios with the hd unplugged, do it, configure the bios to see sata, shut down, plug in the drive and restart.
