Dammit, I tried all 4 in my city on Thur and they didn't have any.

Yeah, I missed out on the 2.1s last summer too, called 10 Sam Goodys and I only found 1 which ended up being a display.

You'll be pleased. Just a little tweaking makes it sound great. I have the sub at about 1/3 , and I have the volume and treble in my Audigy 2 set at about 70%. That way, the bass isn't too boomy, and the highs aren't distorted.

Thanks for the advice, I used to have the Promedia 2.1s but they recently stopped working . Hopefully the 680 dont let me down. I wonder if I should use the onboard Nforce2 sound or the original audigy.

They were $115 at the CC stores in MN. A friend of mine bought all four sets left at the store near me, pissed me off. I ended up driving 40+ miles and bought the last two in the state. These are a HOT deal. Great speakers.

you're talking about the 4.1s, right? even though i have the z680s already, i wouldn't mind having the PM4.1s for my laptop . I mean, for 115, that's a steal. i'll call around the area...

Anyways they do not sound bad infact if im not too out of date the 4.1s mids and highs still sound better then logitechs but logi's got the tighter bass.

I think the purpose of the reciept scan was for pricematching possiblities. Your best chance is at another Circuit City I've been through the discussion w/ a Manager who wasn't budging very much back in the day on the $10 memorex hundred pack of cdrs no rebate and he stated if I bought something(wasnt for the cdrs actually it was for hl blue shift) and I knew it was cheaper out of state at another CC he would do the PM. CC also has the better return policy...you hate it you get all your money back which is why id buy and pm at CC.

If your talkin about using it for your laptop I really dont know. My roomate bought 4.1's after listening to mine for his lappy and they sounded alright, but I never really used his computer unless I was dickin around in my computer and screwed something up earlier.

Yes it is the 5.1s not the dinky gmx. Would like to see how those sound in my room though for $h1ts and giggles.
Don't know if you still want it knowing it was a display model but if you do i'll post it when I dust off my scanner thats in the shed.
