**Update, now with Mainboard comparision** All about P4 1.6a Northwood here!

got my system oc'ed to 2.32GHZ. pushed it up to 2.4 with 150fsb but toned it down.

specs:
P4 1.6a @ 2.32GHZ
asus p4s333
curcial 512 mb ram
visiontek gf3 ti200

i'm running it now @
145 fsb
1.55 v

didn't change any memory settings. ran prime 95 and everything is fine.

Same exact specs as me wow!
I am also at 1.6a @ 2.32 I tried 150 but it rebooted by itself so I took it down a notch. A 720 mhz overclock isn't bad though considering my last cpu a few weeks ago was a 550.

Did you ever get your setup going? I am wondering if you are having that same hang/reboot prob some are experiencing with the Gigabyte board... I am thinking of ordering it.

**Update thread**.

Mainboard comparision to go with the P4-1.6a Northwood.

The Intel I845D and SiS645 chipset is king to go with 1.6a. The VIAP4X266a is a no go.

I have a P4 1.6A on a SOYO Dragon Ultra running at 2400 mhz (150*16) It runs stable at that speed and I can get it higher. My Vcore is 1.825, DDR Volt is 2.9. I am running 256 megs of Crucial PC2100 at 188 (2*188=376) with a 3-4 ratio on the FSB. I also have a Radeon 8500 in this system and its ok with the 150 FSB. This setup blows away my Athlon XP 1600+ running @ 1900+ (unlocked 12*133=1600) on a SOYO Dragon + with same Ram. Of course the P4 system is running 800 mhz faster. The SOYO Dragon Ultra would not overclock when I first got it! I had to wait for a Bios update. They finally came out with one that let me get it going and since then have come out with 2 more that have added to the overall stability of my system.

I am wondering what's special with this motherboard: P4B266SE, ATX (Audio + USB1)

It is the cheapest of the P4B226's from where i am ordering cause they don't have the -C. I guess SE stands for second edition, am I right?. Is it as good at overclocking as the other boards in the series?

Also i'm picking up 2 256 Mb Samsung 2700 memory sticks. Someone mentioned that it's better to have 1 memory stick, why? They don't have 512 mb samsung so the option is 512 Mb Kingston 2100.
