I got in on this deal. Recieved some, others to be shipped. If OD made a mistake, and decided not to ship fine. If they call after shipping and ask me to pay the difference or return the goods, fine. If they just charge my CC, that's another matter.

The question here is permission to charge. Their site TOS claims it is optional to store your CC info. If you didnt volentarily store your info, and they charged you, not only are they breaching the contract of your purchase(clicking confirm on an order total of $82 or whatever) but they are breaking their TOS and credit card policy.

If this is indeed happening, not only are you entitled to refuse to pay the 2nd charge, but you can probably start a lawsuit.

No, the buyers only defrauded OD by stacking unstackable coupons which was clearly against the coupon's T's and C's. Complaining about OD's billback's is like the "pot calling the kettle black".

OD has the right to fight back if they were defrauded.

we'll see what happens...but I have bad feeling about this.

I bought me a Samsung Printer my self during that fiasco. my cc hadn't been charged yet whcih it should've been by now becuz I've already received my printer.

I had a similar problem with TigerDirect. (big surprise there). Anyways, they overcharged me by $110 on a price error, I fought it with my credit card company (Citibank), and, despite what the invoices said, it was rejected and I was charged the full amount. I then spoke to a manager, questioned the legality of what TigerDirect did, and then told them that I didn't want to do business further with a company that didn't protect their consumers. The manager clearly had my account on the screen, noticed how much business they would be losing, and said that they would credit my account the amount of the overcharge with their apologies for not being able to straighten it out. I took it, of course, but am still in the process of changing credit cards. So be aware that a credit card company may not be able to rectify the situation... the best bet always is to use a one-time generated virtual account number with a pre-set limit - this way, they can't go back and charge you anything...

So you're saying it's ok for Office Depot to do something illegal because Office Depot screwed up? I, along with many others, am failing to see the logic here. Office Depot can request to have the item sent back to them or request the customers to allow another charge. Doing so without permission is ILLEGAL

If you take those 4 coupons to the store and they accept it, they can't ask you to pay more later.
I'm just an ignorant customer who try to use coupons found online.
They should tell me during transaction time whether or not it's doable.

Is this happening to mostly people who bought the hard drives? I got my 19 inch monitor and so far see no chargeback.

I disagree about how you consider adding charges to a credit card is "fighting back." As I see it, if OD did not want the sales to go through or to inform the purchaser that the price they were initially charged was incorrect, then the correct course of action would be:

1) email the customer and inform them that the price quote was incorrect due to an error on their side
a) and then ask the customer to either pay the actual price or
b) do nothing and have the order automatically cancelled

2) cancel all order that used the stackable coupons at that time.

Just checked with my Capitol One Card I used for the purchase and no additional charge.
If They do I will slap them hard. I made a purchase, completed the transaction on their terms and picked up my item for a purchase price of 80$. I did nothing illegal taking advantage of a temporary deal and was not given any indication that what I ordered with the condition I ordered them was not right. That's the end right there and then... what should have, could have... is of no consequence!

If you get charged, DON'T bring your item back! That is just silly. The item is yours after a sale! Next thing you know Best Buy charges you for a Thanksgiving Deal with the excuse that they didn't mean to give you that many mail in rebates?! How much sense does that make?!

It's a whole other issue, if they want to send me a letter and apologize for their mistake and ask if I want to bring the item back. Depending on the given incentive I might consider that. But anything else is ludicrous!

No problems here that I know of, got a monitor for 97ish - 30 MIR. I'll hit hard if they try and charge me for the coupons.

OK all, this is a word to the wise.

If this did not happen to you .... yet .... print out your order summary screens that show the price you paid, before they change it.

This is the only good evidence you will have to dispute the charge on your credit card.

I didn't get in on this deal, but I think that the FTC would be *very* interested to hear about this, _if_ they charge your CC some additional "adjustment" amount, *without* your permission to store your CC number on their site.

Not only would it be a violation of their stated privacy policy, it could get them some juicy daily fines from the FTC until they stop, if the FTC decides to take action. (If enough people complain, and provide details.)

It is one thing to have a store policy prohibiting stacking of coupons, and yet not enforcing it, and entirely another, to violate THE LAW.

Perhaps, but only in a legal manner. They could cancel the order, and that would most likely be legal. They CANNOT legally charge your CC any additional amount over what was authorized during the original transaction. That is fraud, as much so as simply stealing money from you once they have your CC number. (As any shady merchant could do, and some have.)

My order status indicates shipped, however there is no tracking yet.....It may have been caught before it left the building......I may be out of luck....

My experience with OD is it usually takes a while for charges to show up on your card.
