Everyone who pricematched and used the coupon. Prepare to have your rebate rejected. I just checked the status of mine and two of my other friends' rebate and we're all rejected. The store manager at office depot warned us about this but gave us the deal anyway. I think a simple phone call will fix all this so don't worry I'm going to call them up tomorrow and report it.

Office Depot has two rebate centers. One is on their website and the other is on the expressgroup.com's website. Two of office depot's rebate centers are listed on the expressgroup.com site, one of which is the same as the one on the office depot front page.

Click here to check the status of your chair AND PNY $65 rebate. Some people got rejected for the PNY $65 rebate. My friends and I are qualified however. A simple phone call should fix up everything. I will update everyone tomorrow.

Edit: Please keep in mind that the two rebate centers, while similar in names and logos and affiliation to office depot will give DIFFERENT results.

I used the 20 off $50 coupon in the store, but no price match, and was rejected. I have E-mailed express group for and explanation, but wonder if others found the same thing. The Box had 4 UPC codes on it, did they want all of them??

OD accepted my PM request, they also honored the coupon, and THIER register spit out the rebate form I sent in.

So Im not worried about it. I have copies of everything. Rebates to Walled Lake have never let me down yet.

I used the $20 off $50 coupon and haven't opened my chair or sent the rebate in yet.

I'm wondering if I should just play it safe and return the chair? My wife wasn't thrilled about the chair anyway (prefers fabric with no arm rests).

I'll keep the chair if I have a decent chance of getting the rebate. I'll send in ALL the barcode/UPC symbols found on the box and in the box.

I posted this over at a ceratin chubby billfold forum but it applies here also.

In my experience, "The Express Group" is one of the very *worst* rebate clearing houses.

I had a terrible time collecting a rebate on an Office Depot/Maxtor hard drive from them. When I was assembling the rebate submission and I wasn't sure what qualified as the "receipt". I got three different answers from three different Express Group CSRs. I ended up sending in copies of *everything* just to be sure (online order acknowledgement, shipping invoice, faxed receipt from OD).

And then they managed to lose everything so I had to fax them everything. I did eventually get the rebate but it was like pulling teeth.

Small update: One of my other friends put BOTH upc from the BOX and CHAIR and his rebate status page says "review." So for all of you who haven't sent in your rebates yet, you should send BOTH upc's in just to make sure.

I think I have until 9/21 to mail the rebate, right? I'll wait another week to see how it goes for you guys before making my final decision.

It sounds like it's more hassle than it's really worth.

Was the UPC different on the BOX vs. CHAIR? I only sent in one from the box. On the rebate form it states.. The original UHP or photocopy from the box. Not chair. So they can't use that as an excuse.

My rebate is rejected too.. I mailed out less than one week ago.. Expressgroup is never so quick to process a rebate.. Something fishy is going on...

I too used the UPC from the box.

Sure. I too use to work as a CSR along time ago. The easiest way to get someone off your back is to blame it on the computer.

I don't know if I'm the only one that's noticed or not, but rebates, price matching, and even stock on hand during an advertised sale on the first day (bait and switch) all seem to be hard to come by these days. I've noticed it at Staples (finally got my $10 rebate after 6 emails and 2 months), Bestbuy, O.D. and Officemax. I think the good old days of PM + coupons + rebate are over or are more trouble (to me) than they're worth. They won't honor their own policies. Sure, I guess you can sue. I don't want the hassles anymore. Their policies make me laugh though. I think most of us know how much they honor their own policy. Hope the rebates come thru for you. If not, definitely complain to the FTC and chalk it up to a lesson learned. Refer to previous rebate posts in search for other places to complain. http://www.ftc.gov/

Where do you find the UPC from the chair, I just do not see it. I checked all the plastic wrappings and did not see it there either.

Monkeylovegood, mine also arrived (left on our frontdoor) with no receipt. I'm waiting for my credit card bill to use it as receipt. If you do the same, you'll just have to white-out sensitive information.

Ripped from FW: "The rebate center didn't have the full list of qualifying UPC codes (there is more than one valid UPC for that type of chair) that go along with the SKU for that chair.

They are awaiting the list of valid UPC codes and working on the problem.
It should be fixed in 3 - 5 days (by the end of this week).
If by Monday, for some reason, the status on the web isn't fixed, we can call back. "

If you need a copy of the receipt call CS and they will fax you a copy of the receipt. If you can't receive faxes call 1-800-937-3600 ext. 87739 and they will snail mail you a copy of the receipt, which can take up to 7 days.

Or.. You can log into your account on OD's site and then under your orders, there should be a receipt that you can print. I've done this and submitted it with a rebate with no problems.

BTW.. I called Officemax one time asking for a faxed copy of the receipt and they emailed one to me. I like that better than a fax even.

can anyone verify their rebate receipt, I do NOT see that using coupon / pricematch will VOID the rebate

Pls go there to check your rebate, mine and a few members rebate are rejected !!!

Mine Qualified (the $30 rebate), also the $30 rebate for a TI-83+ Graphing Calculator was shown as well!

I purchased mine in the store and PM'ed the web price $59 and used the $20 credit coupon.

Nice to deal with a firm you don't have to hassle to get a rebate.

FWIW.. The rebate form says UPC or copy from the box. I just wanted to mention that because someone was saying that they submitted the chair tag with the UPC on it. I'd also cut around the item number on the box as well in addition to the UPC numbers. That's what I did.

FrankWhite: Sorry, but I don't have a scanner, so I can't get you a copy unfortunately. For those of you with a scanner, get this boy a copy of the UPC. There is nothing that's going to identify you personally. It's just a standard UPC.
