This feels eerily similar to last year. The AFC winner came in on a head of steam after putting up huge numbers on opponents, while the NFC winner came in with a real tight series of games with relatively low scoring and tough defense.

I think the result will be narrower than last year, but Seattle still fundamentally dictating the pacing.

It's really easy for teams to start smoking their own press, so the Patriots will also have to be cognizant of being overconfident.

It's anybody's game.

They'll probably pick up Trent Richardson in the offseason and he'll be a 1500-yard rusher next year.

Nah, what am I saying -- no one can make Trent Richardson a 1500-yard rusher.

what made Jerry Hughes so bad in Indy and so good this year?

and yes that dude is the bustiest bust evar.

Grigson should lose his job just for that trade.

I think NE is a much different team than Denver last year. NE has a better defense, especially in the secondary.

Saw a stat that Seattle's D is ranked 27th against the short pass(10 yards or less) which something that NE excels at. Two years ago, Brady threw for almost 400 yds against Seattle with this approach.

I think if NE can run the ball with their short passing game, it's going to be a good game.

Jerry Hughes wasn't utilized properly by the Colts (shocking, I know). He has proven with Buffalo that he can play.

I don't blame Grigson for taking a shot at Richardson. I blame him for a ton of other things though.

them going for Richardson, at least showed they understood they had a problem and were attempting to fix it. It didn't work out, and them talking about paying Luck some crazy money just seems counterproductive. Now, I don't think he doesn't deserve to be paid, but if the difference between $20 and $25 mil per year is a $5 mil per year RB, to help when your passing game isn't working against NE in the AFC championship game, it makes zero sense to pay Luck.

If the odds are really even, I will actually bet on this game. Seattle is a mortal lock to win. This is just dandy, my least favorite NFC team against my least favorite AFC team.

I hope the NFL doesn't make the Packers play in Seattle yet again next year.

Thankfully Wilson's contract comes up this year and Seattle is going to have to lose some good players to pay the massive salary he now warrants.

In theory, Seattle plays at GB next year. But they have made changes when it comes to seeding/conference play that deviates from the norm.

I kind of feel for Bostic...a little, knowing how his refusal to do his own job was costly on the OS kick.

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.co...-about-this-thing/?ocid=Yahoo&partner=ya5nbcs

I think there was a little hero-syndrome going on in his head when that ball was coming his way and instead of doing what he was supposed to do, the attraction of going down as the player who saved the Packers' season, was strong.

I'm fairly confident that he was thinking something along those lines.

But he should stay away from Social Media, and Sports Center until the summer at least, or until he can deal with it.

...but he'll be an easy scaptegoat for Rogers and Mcarthy apologists, however.

The reality is that single play didn't sink the Packers. While I understand him feeling like he blew the game, it wasn't the case. He admits he blew his assignment in favor of trying to make a play, and that should be it.

If we want to talk about what cost the Packers the game, we have numerous examples of them either playing poorly or terrible play calling ruining it. The same can be said for Dallas losing to them and Detroit before that. Sure, if Dez had caught that ball, Dallas may have one. But, had Murray not fumbled deep in their territory, GB would have had as many points. Had the defense made a stop on any of the third downs late in the game, they would have won. Football isn't a single play decides the game, but a collection of plays made by both sides of the ball. I hate this "oh that one moment cost us the game" crap fans love to talk about. Had GB went for it on 4th and inches at their own goal line, they could have been in a position where an onside kick and subsequent score meant nothing.

No, he didn't lose the game. I'd argue that if GB at least got even 1 first down on their prior posession, we're not talking about an Onside-Kick.

The blame goes on that D, FIRST, for basically making it easier for Seattle to score on big Lynch runs, and that freaking catch. Then in overtime, I don't know if GB was at the game or on their way back from trying to check into their hotel rooms in AZ with 5 mins left in the 4th quarter.

You can tell they were celebrating, because the defender who picked off Wilson's last INT slid, kicked his leg up, as if that was the last play of the game.

In a way, I'm glad GB lost for basically playing like they had it won.

chris conte still cant escape his apparent gaffe that cost the bears the post season last year. totally agree with you on your point as well. Should Dallas have gotten rid of Lett after his big gaffe? Or even the second or third gaffe? man that guys was unlucky

Who has done more with castoffs from other teams?

NE

Oakland used to be a place for cast-offs that got a second chance and won 3 Super Bowls as a result.

Coach and management were able to see the diamond in the rough.

A lot of times it takes a certain coaching personality and methodology to get a guy under control. I mean, look at what Moss did in NE. He was amazing.

Everyone talks about how bad Percy Harvin is, but in another year or two, NE will pick him up on the cheap and he will be amazing and everyone will be like "omg wtf".

Tate looks better in Detroit because he now has 2-3 peeps in the opposing secondary constantly magnetized to Calvin Johnson on every snap.

He never had that kind of field to work with in Seattle. He has godawful hands.

Uhm you sure about that? in his last 3 years in Seattle he dropped only 5 of 149 catchable passes that came his way.
