It wasn't a 100% great pass, but coach and receiver are much higher on the list, they combine for 95% of the blame and wilson gets at most the remaining 5.

At the moment he threw, if he would have pulled it down there was enough of a hole by the left guard he could have probably run through the line and scored.

The receiver could have been stronger to the ball but that is assuming he saw something Russell Wilson (who is looking down the field) didn't see when he let go of the ball. If you blame the receiver, you should blame Wilson more as he should have seen the defender looping around and put the receiver in that position. But, it was just more of a great defensive play. But if you want to assign blame, no matter what the coach calls, it's Wilsons fault for not knowing the situation he's in. He can't throw an interception under any circumstance.

it doesn't matter the success rate of pass vs run from the 1. It's risk management in that spot and the downside of pass in that situation is so great you have to choose run.

LOL, Yea I was in a similar mode, 1st being the insane play by Butler and the 2nd with the million-dollar question we all now ask, why, why, why, risk ANY pas play when you've got BM AND the by-far best running QB playing today.

I define Classy as how the players on a team show respect, speak and talk about other players. The Patriots are coached to always heap praise on their opponents. It's maddening even when a team is talking trash. They are always humble in victory. They will do their talking on the field like running up the score if they want to settle a score.

They paid a fine for what the league considered cheating in 2007, 8 years ago. Btw, something a lot of coaches admitted doing. What other times have they been caught cheating? Or are we accepting unproven and sometimes disproven rumors as fact?

Btw, spy gate (the misnomer that it is) is almost a decade old.

Also, well, there is that whole "Eh, never-mind if they have an extensive criminal record, and might be murderers, we'll just 'class' that out of them!"

except, well, maybe the Pats just look the other way until the third murder bites them in the ass.

Understand: I don't necessarily fault Belichick or the Pats for giving a piece of shit like Hernandez a chance--recall that he already had a long history of criminal behavior, well before the NFL--But its just odd to hear someone praise the class of an organization that harbors a repeat felon and eventual murderer on their squad, for so many years.

just saying.

This one of the worst losses I've ever experienced in a game I had a rooting interest in. It made my personal list of agony, which includes:

10. Ravens vs 49ers (SB)
9. Giants vs Angels (WS)
8. Dodgers vs A's (WS)
7. Pats vs Rams (SB)
6. Cards vs Steelers (SB)
5. Raiders vs Pats (Playoffs)
4. Bulls vs Cavs (Playoffs)
3. Texas vs USC (BCS)
2. Duke vs UNLV (Final Four)
1. USA vs Russia (88 Olympics)

This moves into the top 3, but I can't rate it now because its too new. I remember as a kid wanting to start WWIII when the US lost in the Olympics, and I still hate Duke to this day. This was in some ways worse because I already hate the Pats.

That's why I feel comfortable discounting certain plays like a Hail Mary in certain situations, because I don't believe they are always able to replicated. Now, I say certain situations, because I think some teams that are mentally tough and very prepared have the ability to pull them off more so than not.

the fact that you describe Wilson's play as: "Scrambling around and lobbing up Hail Mary's" is indicative of the fact that you don't know shit.

I know. He's still my guy though. When I inherit a few billion from a long lost uncle and buy the Raiders, I'll either hire him or Rex Ryan as my coach.

I guess that is par for the course for people who dislike the Patriots. You guys take unproven and disproven accusations and make outstanding leaps of logic to drag down the Patriots. Ex. "There is a report that Patriots taped the Rams walk through and even though that was disproven, we know they were fined almost a decade ago, and so they are cheaters, must have done something wrong and should be fined.

Whereas reports like this come out.

That is what you call Classy

I actually like Belichik and afford the typical respect that someone like Brady deserves. And I never said any different.

I just think that you are a colossal douche, and an unfortunately loud representative of that fan base. You won't accept this, ever--but you are the reason that the rest of the country hates the Pats.

You make stupid blind arguments when your bullshit can be so easily countered. Glass houses and all that. Make no mistake that every retort you see from me is a direct counter to your abject stupidity--and does not reflect my opinions of said organization.

You only watch games with tunnel vision--from a single perspective wherein you can only interpret plays from "This happened because Brady is awesome" or "This happened because everyone else is cheating or clearly sucks."

you are a blind fucking idiot, and the epitome of why the general public dislikes sports fans.

Because we know he is such an accomplished pocket passer. But let's look at the stats for this game. He threw 12 passes for 247 yards. = LOBS and had 3 rushes for 39 yards = Running around.

Btw what happened when he stayed in the pocket and tried a pass? Maybe Malcolm Butler can tell you.

You knowledge of football is suspect. You can argue you don't mind that's who Wilson is. But everyone knows that's what he does. He's basically a one read QB who makes a lot of plays by scrambling. No one will mistake him for Brady, Manning, or Luck.

clearly, you've watched Wilson play, maybe, 2 games.

You might as well say everything that you are saying here about Aaron Rodgers.

Then counter my arguments. But you can't because I'm right. I told you the Seahawks were overrated on Defense and explained why their stats were exaggerated. What happened? Brady exposed them. Or do you not think they were exposed?

I told you about some of the uncalled penalties that were weird they weren't called. The obvious roughing the kicker and the helmet to helmet. Both because the NFL is trying to take a stand on safety. Which made it even odder they weren't called. Google both and there are big discussions on both.

I watch the game from a view of an educated fan. The problem with you is that NE fans are generally well educated on our teams. It's funny, I generally like to visit our opposing teams ESPN blogs to read up on their teams prior to us playing them. And I'm always amazed how terrible some of the blogs are. Whereas our ESPN blogger Mike Reiss is amazing. He gives us great analytics on our team and competition. (Check out the blog and tell me you disagree.) It's no wonder he's our blogger because that's what our fan base appreciates. Because we take our sports seriously.

You might want to go check out some of those blogs and get your football IQ up.

The General public dislikes sports fans? Geez, you really sound silly, like someone who's never played sports.

Wait your comparing Wilson to Rodgers?
I think this says everything anyone needs to know about your football acumen. You sound like a total idiot.

Tom Brady was named Super Bowl MVP after throwing four touchdowns to lead the New England Patriots past the Seattle Seahawks. The game's biggest play, however, was the goal-line interception by Malcolm Butler, and Brady wants to reward the young cornerback by giving him the truck he won with the MVP trophy.

Good guy Brady.

Good guy Brady.

Yeah, it's a noble gesture by Brady, but let's be realistic; he was never going to keep the truck. He's a hundred millionaire, he's got Audis and Range Rovers and apparently a Rolls Royce. What does he want with a Chevy Colorado? Do you think Malcolm Butler was like "nah, you can keep the truck, I'll take a couple hundred thousand if you're down though?"
