Yeah, it's a noble gesture by Brady, but let's be realistic; he was never going to keep the truck. He's a hundred millionaire, he's got Audis and Range Rovers and apparently a Rolls Royce. What does he want with a Chevy Colorado? Do you think Malcolm Butler was like "nah, you can keep the truck, I'll take a couple hundred thousand if you're down though?"

seriously.

Then counter my arguments. But you can't because I'm right. I told you the Seahawks were overrated on Defense and explained why their stats were exaggerated. What happened? Brady exposed them. Or do you not think they were exposed?

I told you about some of the uncalled penalties that were weird they weren't called. The obvious roughing the kicker and the helmet to helmet. Both because the NFL is trying to take a stand on safety. Which made it even odder they weren't called. Google both and there are big discussions on both.

I watch the game from a view of an educated fan. The problem with you is that NE fans are generally well educated on our teams. It's funny, I generally like to visit our opposing teams ESPN blogs to read up on their teams prior to us playing them. And I'm always amazed how terrible some of the blogs are. Whereas our ESPN blogger Mike Reiss is amazing. He gives us great analytics on our team and competition. (Check out the blog and tell me you disagree.) It's no wonder he's our blogger because that's what our fan base appreciates. Because we take our sports seriously.

You might want to go check out some of those blogs and get your football IQ up.

The General public dislikes sports fans? Geez, you really sound silly, like someone who's never played sports.

You have zero perspective outside of your superfaness. You aren't so much a sports fan, as you are a NE fan.

Again, here you are complaining about penalties that weren't called--only the penalties against NE, nevermind the pushoff at the goal line that gave Amendola the TD or the tripping on first down pass that should have been a 15 yarder for the Seahawks late in the 4th quarter.

I don't go to any fan forums, because fan sports talk boards are generally filled with drooling idiots. You've got to have the acumen of a ground squirrel to think there is any salient information coming from these people.

This explains you.

"Brady exposed them!"

How, what does that mean? You never said a FUCKING THING other than "Brady exposed them." That doesn't mean shit, but you aren't concerned with data or relevant observation.

Here is what you could have said: "Seattle's vaunted defense relies on a big, tough secondary that is quick, but designed to defend against large receivers. The small size of Amendola and that other short dude match up well against Seattle's secondary."

Brady didn't "expose them," you sockpuppet. NE simply matches up well against their scheme. That is it. End of story.

people fucking love that word: "haha! they were exposed in that one game, finally! I always told you they were overrated!" hahahha

OK, sure, your buddies win by 4 points on some shit play call in the final seconds and suddenly they dominated the game and exposed their opponents throughout.

you're a fucking idiot, and everyone here knows that.

Tom Brady was named Super Bowl MVP after throwing four touchdowns to lead the New England Patriots past the Seattle Seahawks. The game's biggest play, however, was the goal-line interception by Malcolm Butler, and Brady wants to reward the young cornerback by giving him the truck he won with the MVP trophy.

Good guy Brady.

Depends on the comparison. Best overall unit in the NFL this year, but definitely 'overrated' compared to last year's unit (in large part due to injuries). Often it's all about the timing, earlier in the year the 'Hawks D was probably marked down in people's opinions a bit too much when they were struggling.

In some ways they remind me of the Pats O in the undefeated regular season where people didn't realize how stacked it was until well into the season, and once in the post-season they were past their peak and got beat by a Giants team with just the right gameplan. Only the Pats played that role this year.

Wonder if PFM had played in this Super Bowl how he would have done - his team probably wouldn't have been shellacked by 40 points although he'd probably still have lost.

Brady is dangerous under pressure. I forget the number, but I think he has the quickest release in the league. It's really not enough to just get pressure on him, because he makes you pay, hard, with the simplest mistake. And that's generally been true of all of his opponents.

I don't think this Seattle team would have destroyed this year's Denver team like last year (much better defense in Denver), but I think they still would have won...even with last year's PFM and this year's Denver defense. PFM folds like a rag dole under most pressure situations. Add to that he has had noodle arm most of this season, and they were executing so poorly on offense the ~month going into the playoffs.

It may not have been as ugly as last year, but that's a reflection of Seattle likely scoring less, even though it would have likely been a shutout for the Denver Offense.

Wilson isn't a lob only passer, but he certainly does like the lob when he's in trouble or outside the pocket.

I do have to agree that Seattle's defense played a fairly cupcake second half of the year. It also helped they got Wagner back. Regardless, they shut down teams like they were supposed to. They got exploited by the quickness of NE's receivers (and GB's to an extent) especially on the underneath routes though.

Lol, "they're more educated", lol.

Waiting for next season when you can state that under no circumstance they'll lose the next game cause you've got that zen about you.

Not to mention it didn't help that they lost 2 of their starters so quickly.

Still think it's funny that they didn't show anything about the arm and just said he was being carted off for a sprained wrist after they put him in a full arm aircast.

I'm not a Pats fan (or a Hawks fan for that matter) but I was thinking the same thing when it happened. I thought for sure the Pats were going to lose a third straight Superbowl on an unbelievable catch.

so was I..and so was the broadcast crew who promptly queued clips of the Tyree catch. As soon as I saw that, I was thinking: "Fuck you, NBC! now the Pats will win somehow on some comparable bullshit!"

yeah, not like the seahawks didn't get lucky with that miraculous catch either bro.

I think they would have ended up near the goal line anyway. For whatever reason they can do 15-30 yard plays better than can just getting 5-7 yards for a simple first down. Heck, they went 60-80 yards in 30 seconds at the end of the half. Throughout the season all their scoring drives seem to have a 20+ yard pass play or two. Their receivers couldn't get open if their lives depended on it, but one thing they do better than most is go after the ball.

Maybe I'm just rationalizing, but I'm starting to think they got down there too quick. It was a strange situation because they knew they needed to score, but then they started to to think past the score and worry about time for the Pats. They also anticipated a NE timeout, like most of us, and it made more time run off the clock. Whats strange is if they would have scored quicker, say, the lucky catch was actually in the end zone, I don't doubt Brady would have got them in field goal range for OT.

Anyways, everything before that is pretty much set in stone, and it came down to one play. And I think its more that NE made the play than SEA screwed it up. I'm not a fan of the specifics of the play, but 99 times out of 100 its a touch down or an incomplete pass. Even when you know its coming, its still hard to stop. If Browner had average corner back strength, I think it still would have worked. If Browner wasn't a former Seahawk, it probably still would have worked. If Butler hadn't been beat in practice on that exact play and Bellichick not reinforced his responsibilities in that situation, it would have worked.

But it didn't. In the end its no different than missing a field goal or dropping a pass on 4th down. hahaha man, I want to believe that, but I don't. **** me.

God: ‘Fuck Russell Wilson’
THE HEAVENS—Following the game-ending interception against the New England Patriots in Super Bowl XLIX, God Almighty, Creator and Supreme Ruler of the Universe, confirmed Monday that He “can’t fucking stand Russell Wilson” and that the Seattle Seahawks star quarterback “can go fuck himself.” “I hate Russell Wilson, so fuck him, and fuck the Seahawks,” said the Heavenly Father, adding that Jermaine Kearse’s incredible catch on Seattle’s final drive was indeed a case of divine intervention, but only so Wilson could then throw an interception that cost his team the Super Bowl. “I mean, the look on his face right after I made him throw that pick on the goal line was just priceless. He’s so fucking annoying, so I wanted to get his hopes up and then crush him in front of the whole world. Self-righteous little prick.” Despite subsequently allowing the Patriots to win their fourth Super Bowl title, God also clarified that Tom Brady, Bill Belichick, and Robert Kraft are all “dirty fucking cheats” who will spend an eternity in Hell after they die.

emperus is an embarrassment to us actual NE fans.

Who are you talking about NE fans. If you actually lived in NE, I'm closer to the sentiment represented then you can ever be. You're probably one of those NE fans who lives in CT. You sound like one of those people so starving for attention you go along to get along. That's so unrepresentative of what makes a Bostonian a Bostonian and a NE pats fan a Pats fan.

That's why our motto is Boston Strong!!

Like I said, your comments here are an embarrassment to NE fans.

Do0d, simmer down! Connecticut is in NE!

New England is a region in the northeastern corner of the United States consisting of the six states of Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont, Rhode Island, and Connecticut.
