Update on my 102MPH traffic ticket

for those of you who dont know what I am talking about heres the initial thread

Yesterday I attended court.... it went something like this.

Judge: You were driving in excess speed of 100, how do you plead?

Me: Guilty

Judge: Your penalty is a fine of $505 (ME: HOLY SH!T) and a 30day suspension of your drivers license.

Me: Your honor this is my first offense and I understand that I was wrong is there anyway you can reduce the cost of the ticket because there is no way I can pay for that amount.

Judge: that is a discounted price, you were putting yourself and others in danger. Are you able to pay for this now?

Me: No

Judge: would you like 1 2 or 3 months to pay the ticket off?

Me: 3 months

This is going to be one very expensive lesson that I have to learn from ::SIGH::
I know I was wrong... but I was hoping for some leniency but there was none given.

One of my friend got a 104mph ticket a few years ago. He almost slammed into the cop car that caught him. He slammed his brakes hard to stop. But he got off with a warning.

Anyhow, you are about to become insurance company's employee of the month
I know we all do over 100 mph on I5 once in a while, but if you get cought, it's some tough luck.

Depends upon your insurance company and the state. My insurance company only pulls dimrecs when you ask them, or if you are signing up for a new policy. I could get 10 speeding tickets, but as long as I simply renewed, they couldn't care less.

The real problem is when you switch companies or policies. Then they have to pull dimrecs and then they get you by the huevos.

But, that's just my insurance company. Your milage may vary.

Woah, I did 110mph and cop caught me, but my ass slowed downed hella quick down to 90mph. Thats what I got written up for. It was $160, not too shabby. Dangggggggggggg $500!!! Man you should go cry like a girl right now, thats nothing compared to what ur insurance is gonna get you for. damn.

I would have plead not-guilty. Speeding tickets are so easy to get out of. I was a total moron when I was 16, got out of about 25 tickets within a 2 year period. Haven't had a ticket now in almost 3 years. Needless to say I learned my lesson.

There are a lot of people out there who speed, and use a lawyer to get off.
The insurance companies just love it when guys like you just plead guilty...

Why in the world would you not get a lawyer for something like this?

You know what, 100mph isn't all that bad. I find myself crusing at 100mph alot of times and don't even realize it. Along the I-5 near San Onofre nuclear generators to Oceanside, that stretch is soooooo empty. I blast the way down it all tha time baby!!! If you were doing 100mph near a school residential area, then I can imagine the judge being hard on you. But dude, seriously, 100mph is nothing on a freeway.

I am currently in the midst of a 90 day suspension for doing 91 in a 65 mph zone. My fine was only $170, but you got off pretty easy w/ that suspension.

heeh i out ran the cops once.... stupid thing to do but i was already doing 115 MPH when I met him on the highway, I then floored it and thank god i was in some Hilly areas going uphill mostly. I passed a lot of vehicles and the traffic was very busy. oh well.... I never looked back and got off the highways as fast as i could.

Didn't you at least ask for traffic court? Or say, "guilty with an explanation"?

That might have at least saved you from the insurance rate hike.

The judge must have been in a bad mood. I am sorry to hear this bad news for you.
