I am laughing at the House Rebublicans now because this is worse than their "Plan B" and they need to accept it because they did not have the sense to pass their "Plan B".

This takes zero tax increases off the table, as they can always be voted in later. It also provides no spending cuts, only increases. So the Rebublicans are voting for higher taxes and higher spending.

I personally think that taxes do need to go up, but that spending is the main problem which is not being addressed now.

Good. Time for the those in the high-cost of living states to pay their share. This will come in particular handy as this will limit the ability to take federal deductions for state taxes paid. They should have eliminated the state tax exemption outright, but this is a start.

Interesting, It also limits how much gambling loses off sets winning, if you win 1 million dollars gambling but lose 500,000 you can only deduct 250,000 of that 500,000 from the 1 million.

Not surpised at all it passed. The republicans were in a no win situation in the house. If this did not pass and the markets tanked in the morning the big time donors would be all over them. Then in 2 weeks when middle class people noticed a smaller pay check the public would be all over them. They should of taken the grand bargin but they went all in defeating obama in the election instead. If they wanted bigger deal could of put simpson-bowles up for a vote last year.

The GOP did get 1 victory they got the democrats to agree with them on low taxes for 98% of people is a great thing.

From what I have heard and understand that blue state democrats would never allow that to happen. Those are in general much higher taxed states and need the federal subsidy to keep the upper middle class and above from revolting.
