I tend to agree with the consensus here the problem is with Philips not Parago. I received rebates from Parago for 2 Philips drives that I bought early in this promotion. I bought 2 more drives in late July and still have not received rebates for these. Funny thing though I checked with Parago and was told that Philips would not fund their rebate account so there were no more funds available to send out rebates. I tend to believe Parago on this one and I will reiterate that "PHILIPS SUCKS!"

I didn't give them my serial number but they gave me a case number anyway, but then again I still haven't received my check...

Yes.

So you're either stuck with a 40 mi. trip, or you can walk your sister through unplugging the box, removing the case cover, and then removing the CD-RW drive. (And the reverse.)

Call those morons at Philips back and explain to them that the serial# was not needed on the original rebate form and that they can't go changing the terms AFTER the fact.
If you want to be nice, explain that the CDRW is in your sisters computer, etc.
But in any case, they can't make you provide any more information than was originally required.

BTW, good luck with the ignorant, moronic A-holes that work at the Philips call center. They're about the worst I've ever dealt with, and that's saying ALOT.

I just called without a serial number and they gave me a case #, it sounds like I'll only get one rebate but at this point ONE is much better than NONE....Just not going to do business with phillips anymore..

I talked to Philips about this rebate first thing today and the "promotions supervisor" said that they have finally received all the data from Parago. According to her, all submissions that conformed to the original conditions will be honored. If you called before, you "should" get your money before the end of the year. I don't know how long it will take for them to clear the entire backlog but it will be done.

IMHO, this promotion has moved ahead of the Xircom webcam to be the second most troublesome rebate of the year. Only the Prime Peripherals deals, where Staples and Office Depot had to take over the programs themselves, were worse.

the CSR told me they are sending rebates out alphabetically, starting from #. They are up to A's right now. No idea if this information is credible or if it's another one of their lies.

man, i'll raise some hell if that happens...i was the one who first posted the deal, if i'm not mistaken (although someone else "updated" their thread with my info, and it seemed to get more attention), and i'm still waiting for this crap...last name starts with a "V"

Sent one in under my GF name with her parents address and that starts with F so lets see if it is true.
I doubt it is anyway.

Well, an idea struck me today, so off I went to the Philips USA website. I wrote a complaint letter and sent it to every name listed here:

Much to my surprise I got this back in a few minutes:
