Well, I thought I'd play the patient one and wait the 4-6 weeks that Charlene J. from the Philips Customer Care Center told me before contacting Natalia but now its been 6 weeks and no check, so Natalia got her message today.

I figure she'll get another 6 weeks (totaling more than 26 weeks) before I CC: her on my complaints to the BBB & FTC.

Good thing we're earning 8% interest on this money that Uncle Philips is holding for us.... what? no interest!??! How many AT deals could I have gotten in on if I had that rebate 8 weeks after buying this drive?!?!?

I contacted Natalia on Saturday with a civil, matter-of-fact message and received a response today. Word is that my check will be mailed within 48 hours.... no run-around or excuses - I'm hopeful that this will be the end of the saga.

I just sent Natalia an e-mail, and within 2 minutes I got a reply that the check will be mailed in 48 hours. thanks for sharing the e-mail addy.

FINALLY the stupid $40 rebate shows up. Too many calls to the rebate center,way too many ignored emails,too much time delay from submission.I even told them I would file complaints,they said they would send check,they didn't.
There responce to the BBB and FTC complaints was immediate,check was even fedexed.

No more Philips rebates for me.

Yup, emailed Natalia on Friday and asked me to email her my addy so she can send them. Emailed reight back they would be sent in 48hrs. Man, she must be ready to quit!!!!

I emailed her on December 12th and she told me the same thing, still no check

Never never never again will I buy a Philips product!!!!!! I'm now waiting almost 5 months for my rebate. Done all the mailing, phoning and now emailing. Still waiting.

like most of you, I emailed ms russ on saturday and received email today stating that the check would be mailed in 48 hours. we'll see

Thanks for the Natalia e-mail address. I received my 40 rebate in Dec for the 8X drive. I also had bought the 12X Philips in Oct that has a $20 rebate from OD. It is now 3+ weeks overdue. Hopefully an e-mail to Natalia will speed thing up. I don't want to wait another 4 months for my rebate.

I think a few of you guys are slightly gullible...I got the 48 hours e-mail just before she took her Christmas vacation and still no rebate check.

Silly humans, you forgot to ask 48 hours from what date....!!!

Those who received the check via FedEx...where did it originate?

I have a FedEx delivery coming today from somewhere in OH and it's a FedEx "Letter" packaging.
I'm hoping that it's my $40 and I can put all this behind me.

I, like most of you, will NEVER purchase another Philips product in my lifetime!

I just called for my 4 time. Was told email was sent for check to be cut on 11/24 and should have check in 3-4 weeks, then called back and was told 6 weeks from 11/24 and now just called again and its now 6-8 weeks. They bump it every time. I am never buying a philips product again!!!!!

I just called, the second time, and was told that a email was sent on 12/5 and it would take 4-6 weeks for the check to arrive. I think that if I have to call again and they give me some "oh it will be 6-8 weeks" crap I am going to send a email to the attorney general of MN and see what can be done about this. I am sick of Philips and not paying me my $40.

E-mailed Ms Russ., got a reply in less than 10 mins. Much the same as everyone else: 'The check will be mailed within 48 hrs...' Can't be a robot though, 'cause I had changed addresses, and she mentions this in the email. She must spend a lot of time reading email and sending the same generic response...

I'll let you know if I actually get it (not holding breath). I tried email and phone calls earlier with no luck.

Well I'll be. Checked my mail yesterday and low and behold... A check for $40 from Phillips.

OK, here's a summary.

Mailed in to RebatesHQ in July (7/12/01)
Told to wait 8 - 12 weeks on standard form. This means 10/4/01 I will have my check.
But no, so I call Phillips and am told to wait 4 - 6 weeks. This means 11/15/0 I will have my check.
But no, so I cal again and am todl another 6 week. This means 12/27/01 I will have my check.
But now I got it on 1/7/01 for a grand total of...

*Drumroll*
25+ weeks to get a simple $40 check from a multi billion dollar company.

Nah nah nah nah. Nah nah nah nah. Hey Hey. Good Bye.

Called today and got thru finally - Dee Ann told me to wait 6-8 weeks from December 16th (last time I called).

That is some weak a$$ sh!te! If I ever get my $$$ I'll be happy - Or happier since I sold the burner for $35 to a guy at work...

I think I would buy a Phillips prod in the future just not one with a rebate...:disgust:

I wonder when Philips made the switch to using automated robots to handle their rebate issues? Seems these robots are programmed for just 2 responses: "4-6 weeks" and "6-8 weeks"...I did finally get my check last week, but I'd give 100:1 odds that if I called the robots again today, they would still blurt out the above mantra.

My check was fedexed from Ohio.
I am sure It would not have been, but 2 much B/S from Philips left me no other option but to file complaints.
Check was dated 12/20,but showed up yesterday? Trying to cover a few days, or par to course for Philips?
I am sure they do not normally fedex rebates,however it seems likely they did in my case to respond to BBB or FTC complaints.
Hell,,,they wouldnt' even return my emails.

Over and done with,,,,FINALLY.

I am done with Philips FOREVER.What really pisses me off is that I was a consumer.As a {former} consumer they ignored my emails.
In essence this action provides no product,consumer or customer support, and I REFUSE to buy from a company that IGNORES CUSTOMER SUPPORT.
BAD,BAD,BAD BUSINESS PRACTISE.

Good luck to the rest of you,,still patiently waiting,,,my patience tolerance expired some time ago.
