Anyone else see a pattern here?

You contact Natalia, she requests some information and says your check will be mailed in 48 hours.

Magically, it shows up the same day, 48 hours later, 6-8 weeks later (Twister00), or you're told to wait another 8 weeks (wluk). I'd say she's in charge of pacification, rather than fulfillment. Whatever they're doing, they're doing it on their own time line.

My guess on why some folks get their checks FedEx'd is that they either mentioned AT Forums (lotsa bad word-of-mouth for Philips and they're throwing us a bone) or made convincing threats about the BBB/FTC.

Good luck to those still out the $40. I think Philips should change their slogan from "Let's make things better" to "Caveat Emptor"

I emailed her and she responded in 7 minutes!!! Telling me that my rebate will be mailed in 2 business days. I think she has some pull over there since this was my first attempt to contact Philips on this matter.

Oy!

I recevied an email from Natalia stating that my check was mailed on 1/7. This morning I received a phone call from some one at Phillips apologizing for all the problems and requesting my mailing address which I gave her. She said that another batch of checks were going out and she was trying to get my check in that batch. The best part is I got the check Natalia referenced in the mail today.

Do you think I'm going to get another check? If I do, I'll pin the second one on the wall as a reminder to never buy another product from Phillips that comes with a rebate.

Well.....maybe. But only to penalize Phillips for the poor treatment we all received. Yea, that's it!

I received my rebate yesterday. Sent mail to Natalia on Dec 27, 01.
(I was waiting for rebate since Sept 01. :-( )
Have patience, you will all receive your rebates.
Anybody got ViewQuest webcam rebate/s DENIED from wheresmyrebate.com due to "Max no. of rebate requests!!" . Those guys are never there to receive phone calls, no replies to emails etc. Seems some kind of racket to get their old stuff cleared and then deny those rebates. Very good (sic) policy ?

Everyone should check their thermometers, I do believe hell hath frozen over- my rebate finally arrived.
But I'll never buy another Philips product again.

Thanks to all you for doing the legwork and factfinding. I emailed saturday with tracking number, received a response monday and the $40 check was cut tuesday, mailed wednesday, and arrived today. Hooray! For the record, rebateshq sent me the tracking number 8/14/2001. Almost 5 months.

Me neither...I wouldn't buy so much as a light bulb from Philips...then again, I haven't [knowingly] bought anything, not even a light bulb, from GE or any of their subsidiaries in over 10 years, since they screwed me over. Now that Philips is out of the picture, I guess it's going to be dinner by computer-light from now on

Got my check yesterday, only called once each month, last call was Dec. 11, never sent email or talked to anyone important.

i think philips got their act together...i got mine today..and i called a long time ago ..where i did not even make sure they sent my case to the promotions department..and i never emailed natalie

After emailing Natalia a couple days ago, I received my $40 rebate today!

Many thanks to all the individuals that provided information (i.e. phone numbers, people to contact at Philips) for the rest of us!

This proves that with the 3D's for success (desire, dedication, determination) you can do most anything.

...and what would that be? Paying us the money that Philips promised us months ago? IMO Philips should give everyone much more than the $40 MIR Philips owed us. Philips has done far more damage to their company image than paying their advertised rebates could ever repair at this point. It is easy to see now why they are the world most sued corporation. Over 250 class actions in the 90s alone:|

On topic: Just recieved my rebate check today. Glad to have this fiasco over and hope that everyone else gets whats coming to them soon. This includes those at philips that tried for so long to avoid paying their customers.

Slightly off topic: I purchased a Philips Magnavox TV a couple of years ago and one day it just wouldn't turn on. I took it to a Philips authorized service center (Still under warranty). When I went to pick it up it had a deep scratch across the picture tube. I asked to have the tube replaced at their expense, they agreed. When that repair was made I went to pick it up and the picture was crooked. I asked to have it aligned properly. They aligned the picture and said it could not be straightened. They said it was because the circuitry would not allow for that much alignment and that philips would not replace the tube again. So I give Philips customer service a rating of :|:|:|:|:|

I will never buy another product from them.

I will never again buy a Philips product.

Got mine today too. Emailed Natalia on 1/7/02, got email on 1/8/02 saying the check would be sent in 48hrs. Check was mailed 1/8/02 from Ohio. It had a 12/28/01 date on it, so it may have been in the works anyway.

Glad it's finally over.
