Hey guys, I got not one.....not two....but three rebate checks from them.
I had the same moral struggle as you guys, and to be perfectly honest, when I got the second check, I fully intended to tear it up. A measly $40 wasn't worth it to me to give Philips ANY reason whatsoever to hassle me in the future. I mean, I think somebody's going to figure this out one of these days, and I didn't want to have to hassle with it.
Besides which, you can make all the excuses you want, but the money doesn't belong to you.
Yes, I think that Philips should've made some sort of gesture to compensate us not only for our time, but for the extreme hassle we had to go through to get these damn things. I mean, they've got one of the worst call centers I've ever had to call, staffed by stupid, irate people that have absolutely regret that they haven't sent you the money they owe you. It wasn't until I went to the Philips web page and e-mailed everyone on it that things started getting taken care of - I tell ya, I couldn't post those e-mail addy's here fast enough!
I mean, even if they would've given us some stupid 10% coupon for a purchase or SOMETHING....anyway, all that being said, when I had an extra 80 bucks in my hot little hands, I caved. Cashed all three checks. Hopefully it won't come back to bite me in the arse later on.
