Here's an update for anyone still waiting for the rebate from July like I have been:

RebatesHQ had been handling this rebate for Philips. According to Philips, RebatesHQ totally screwed things up and messed up all the customer records which resulting in Philips terminating their contract with them and bringing the whole process in-house. So at this time a lot of rebates haven't been processed yet. When I spoke to Philips they had to reconstruct my submission by verifying my date of purchase and serial number of the drive. Once that was done a case number was assigned to it and resubmitted for payment in another 6 weeks. Here's some names and number of some knowlegable folks there to check with:

1-800-531-0039, enter prompt 5. Ask for Lavada or Lynn. Also, their supervisor Keisha knows what to do to reprocess the rebate. Rhonda in promotions makes the final decisions on getting a check request submitted.

Thanks for the info. Been waiting for a while...I did however email some Philips guy a month or 2 ago, someone had an email address to email them for resubmission and I think I got into and did that, if my rebate doesn't come in another month, i'll probably give that # a call. Thanks! :-D

RebateHQ did good job for long time till recently. Now I do not know which rebete center I can trust.

From the time it gets resubmitted it is supposed to take 6 weeks to mail the check. In my case they were able to find that I inquired with them on 10/3 and since my check hadn't gone out yet to put in to be reprocessed immediately instead of having to wait another 6 weeks. It took the supervisor, Keisha, to find my original inquiry, the CSRs couldn't come up with it on their own.

I had a chat with the philips people and rebatesHQ about 3 weeks back. I got the same info as RBC but I also got a letter from Philips that they have verified my info and will mail a check in 6 weeks!!!

OK, I just called and asked for either of those girls. Guy by the name of Orlando said they were busy or something and he could handle it.. He said they have another rebate outfit handling it, took all my information and gave me a case#.. He said seeing as though you called you will be on top of the rebate mailing but give it 5-6 WK`s..I had email conformation from them on 8-3 too..Oh well if it comes I,ll just be glad..

Keep your eye on the rebate tracking thread also....there is often valuable info on this particular rebate and, of course, many others...

I sent an email at PhilipsCustomerCareCenter@philips-support.com a week ago and got a reply from them the next day with the case number.

I think they only rebate people that are on top of this!!! The one that did not called or forgot about it will not get the rebate!!

Couple months ago, while I checked my Prime Peripherals rebate status, PP told me the rebate fulfillment center totally scrwed things up. So they terminated their contract with them and they would process the rebate by themself.

They did find my information and said my check would be send in few weeks. A few weeks passed, no check. So I called again, and I was told they were processing large amount of rebates, but assured that I would get my rebate check soon. And then, after another few weeks, I called again, but could only reach answering machine. They never called back.

You may guess the end of this true story, Prime Peripherals filed Ch. 11, and they are gone forever.

Ditto here...Just called the number in the first post and talked to Kim. She took my info over the phone, and said I would receive my check in about 6 weeks. I'll keep my fingers crossed. She apologized and said ALL of there rebates are a mess right now. I agree with the others here about contacting these people. It sounded by the tone in her voice, that they will not be sendig out rebates unless they are contacted by the customer.

Where'd you buy the items at?

If they were bought from OfficeMax (a lot of people jumped in on PP free after rebate deals here), OfficeMax intervened and was helping people get the rebates promised. Someone is bound to have the contact information if you need to reach OfficeMax. You can message me if nobody else has the contact info, and I'll check into it.

Question for those that called. Did you ask your CSR when the clock start for the 6 weeks?
I have called Philips couple of times and the responses were "Please allow 4-6 weeks for your check".

I called them again, (they hate me by now) the man said my check should be here by December 14, 2001. My first call was the middle of October.

Thanks for the info. I am going to give them a call on Friday and try to get my money. I just thought that I was out of luck again on one more rebate.
