I even talked with Staples Customer Service and they contacted Philips. They were told I would have to check in 7 to 10 days.

That's come and gone and guess what? SURPRISE! NO CHECK!

I'm shopping for a TV set in the area of $1,000. There are some nice looking Philips/Magnavox sets. Would I EVER consider a product from Philips. I may be stupid but I will NEVER buy a Philips product again!

I'm willing to try once but not get bitten twice. These people don't give a darn about customer service and seem out to take us for as much money as they can. I've never had so many broken promises. I used to think Philips was a good company. They appear to be headed for bankruptcy if their customer relations is any indication.

i got the check finally. i sent natalia an email last thursday and i got it today.

i FINALLY received my $40 rebate check sometime last week.. a rebate I sent in sometime last summer, after several calls to philips...

hang in there guys, and if you have never called in or only called in once long ago, i suggest calling again and getting a case # and
then getting a date estimate from them. ask them exactly where in the process your check is..

Got my rebate this week and didn't have to call Natalia. Made one call to Philips, got a case number and waited. Did take 5 months though.

I don't know whats going on in this thread and I'm not going to read all the post but:
I received 1 (bestbuy) a couple of months ago & the (philips) a couple of weeks ago.

Finally got both of mine. Funny thing is,speakers they had at CC fom black Friday adn that came a week later from Phillips.

Emailed Natalia 1/15/2002. Had a response within a couple of hours and received a check on 1/18/2002. Barely a 72 hour turn around time. Now if it were only that fast to begin with...

If you haven't gotten your rebate checks yet, I suggest you should email her. :Q

Holy smokes. I replied a couple of pages ago that I ended up getting two rebates from Philips for my CDRW - and I don't mean the BB one either, I got TWO $40 rebate checks from Philips. One other guy that posted here got the same.
Now, like any of you might be, I was tempted to quickly run down to the bank, cash both, and feel like I'd gotten something for all my hassle anyway.....but.....I know that's not the right thing to do. Yes, I think that Philips should do SOMETHING to compensate us for all our hassle, but, they've chosen not to, so anyway, I e-mailed Natalia and told her that I got two rebates (zips flamesuit up), and I asked her if she'd like me to send the second check back, or to simply destroy it.
Well, not too surprisingly, she asked me to destroy the second check.
Sure I was hoping she'd say, hey man, go ahead and keep it, we royally F'd this one up, and you might as well be compensated for all your hassle.....but she didn't.
So anyway, I was all set to not cash the second one, and when I got back in town today, a THIRD check had arrived at my place.....WTF?!?!?!?! So now I've gotten THREE rebate checks for the ONE drive I bought
Dammit, man, I could've watched an extra $40 go down the drain, but an extra $80?!!?!?
The only thing that keeps me from running to my bank is the fact that I would imagine Philips will figure this out pretty soon, and then cancel payment on the two extra checks. That means an $18 fee for EACH check, PLUS having the $40 for each withdrawn from my account.
decisions decisions decisions.

This happen to anyone else?

Got my check finally. Guess the best thing to do is to email Natalia. After doing that it wasnt more then a week before I got my check. (wonders if a second or third is comming like the possibly lucky bum above)

yeah it's been a long time since i emailed natalia and received that "check will be sent in 48hrs" crap, still no check though...wished i had some friggin luck

I got a reply from the BBB that they had contacted Philips. Of course by the time they got around to it, Philips had finally mailed out the rebate. Blah.

Crank, once the check has cleared they can't yank it out of your account. Stop payments are only good if the check hasn't cleared yet. They can "ask" you for the money back, but they'd have to sue you to really get it. Now direct deposit from your employer is a different matter. You sign an agreement saying they can put in and take out at will. Lucent once deposited 2 paychecks and withdrew 3 on me.

Woo Hoo got my check on Saturday exactly 6 business days from when I sent Natalie 'the' email. Better late than never.

thanks for the email address, I email that lady with my name and address ONLY, i never gave her my drive's UCP, case # or serial info.

i guess she just look for my name is rebateshq.com and then mail out my check!

i sent her an email about a week ago with my rebatesHQ number, she sent a msg back the next day saying the check would be mailed in 48 hours, i got it today... i sent it in early august... bleah, what a pain, but i did finally get it, thanks to you guys!! keep up the good rebate tracking work

My Mom got her check today, a week ago thursday Nataila e-mailed it would be sent in 48 hrs. Still don't have mine and I e-mailed her
2 days before my Mom. Burner still works great, but if a rebate was involved again(as a deciding factor) I would surely pass on Philips.

I already posted that I got my rebate check recently after contacting Natalia, but I'd have to say yes. Even if I had never gotten that $40, the total cost for the drive would have been $40. Considering I've already burned nearly 600 cds with that drive since I bought it in July, I feel that it's served my quite well for only $40. Sure, it's not the fastest, but it's twice as fast as my 4x burner. And since that rebate did finally come through, my total cost in the end: $3.15 (tax) + $0.68 (stamps) = $3.83

It's too bad that not everyone's drives have worked as well as mine has, though. I'll still probably never buy another philips product again, though, and definitely not if there are rebates involved!

I e-mailed Natalia some time last week, and she promised me my check 48 hours and 4 to 7 business days later. The check actually arrived yesterday!! w00t! I was almost shocked.
I wasn't really expecting them to come through. It only took about five months and an e-mail or two, but I finally got my Rebate!!!!
I may consider buying Philips products again (maybe)..........
As for the drive itself, I have no idea how good it is. I sold it for $60 about four months ago. I have heard no complaints from the buyer, though.

Why would you even CONSIDER returning a duplicate rebate check?! After what they did to us?! If I got 10 rebate checks in the mail, I'd cash them ALL without blinking an eye. By the way, I wouldn't worry about them putting a stop payment on it unless you bring it to their attention. This is a HUGE company, they don't have time to waste even noticing something like a few rebates cashed by the same person, and if they did, it would already be too late for them.
