The rebate is valid. If HP doesn't honor the $100 rebate then I will contest. The $75 off is an Office Depot promo.

The $75 off is only valid on the HP 1215 printer though. The 1115 is not a valid purchase for $75 off.

I just cannot keep HP printers. Their quality is good, but the replacement ink is just too expensive. I'd like to print a lot of photos, but the HP will end up costing me more than I would like.

GOT MINE!!!

look at my scanned receipt HERE !

the receipt kinda mess up, cuz the manager don't know what to do with the 20% off ( local OD system won't take that code )
so they have to do something like PRICE GUARANTEE to take that 20% off , then use $75 off and Free 64mb CF

Now I have to sell the HP318 and wait for $100 rebate ( well even rebate won't come, it still hot for me. do you agree ?)
Too bad that receipt shows all the coupons, otherwise it's time for another AMEX PM...
Proud to be an Oregonian! ---> NO TAX

Anyway, this is another deal of the year that can compete in the nomination!!!! whahaha

THANKS for posting this deal!

The 1115 should sell on ebay pretty well - just do a search - they are all selling for over $160 + $20 s/h (why? i don't know). I believe the HP rebate is only good on printers purchased before 1/1/02, so if you're worried about it affecting your selling prince, wait a few weeks.

The $75 coupon at OD DOES apply to the 1115, it's in the fine print. It says something like "qualifying printers" and the first stock number is the one for the 1115. I had to point it out to the manager - he thought it was only the 1215.

Hell Ya I got one for me and one for my mom. I'll post the receipts in a sec I am scanning them now. I went to the Garden grove od and then went to the fullerton od and had them price match. When they price matched it at fullerton they shorted me 11$ but who cares I just wanted to get out of there before they changed there minds.

Murse: I had to get the 1215 printer because nobody in Chicago has the 1115. I will scan the stores though in person to double check.

I called HP and they will be paying OD back for the $75
Make no mistake you won't get both. They said either you get the $75 or the $100.

When I first saw the deal my I couldn't believe it, Then I tried to ordered it and thats when I called HP.

Sounds like people are getting conflicting info from the HP rebate center. It may be true that you can't get the $75 and the $100, but some people are getting receipts that don't mention the instant rebate at all - mine merely says "discount" and it's for more than $75 so there's nothing on the receipt that identifies the $75 promotion. IF there is a problem it'll be easy to contest.

Just got back from OD with my version of the deal

You can call the OD online to check stock status, the web listing is not up to date.

As far as the confusion about the HP rebate goes, if you get the 1115 you can probally avoid it. It seems the registers were only programmed for the 1215 as pictured on the coupon, and it gives a product not purchased error if you use it with the 1115. So the OD person has to manual input a -75. Therefore, no mention of rebate on receipt

I picked up the 318, 1115, and the chair on sale for $300 before rebate, 200 after for all 3 (if I keep the printer) is a pretty good deal.

I just did the deal. The rebate showed up as a $140 credit and not a promo or anything. Now I qualify for the $100 HP rebate. I have to go back tomorrow though because my receipt is wrong. They overcharged me by about $100.

So, now that I got this HP 1115, is there any reason to keep it? I already have a HP 870 CSE.

damn office depot! there are no office depots in phoenix anymore, so i had to call my father-in-law in tucson and send him down there. I ordered off the website, for in-store pickup (pay at store), gave him the $75 coupon code, and the printout of the online confirmation ... still the store wouldn't do it because they weren't going to honor the internet %20 off because they are a b/m and therefore apparantly doesn't apply to them! so they were only gonna give him the cf card and the $75 off. (he called me from the store to fill me in on this, and I spoke to the store manager and explained that I'm not trying to screw them, this is their freaking policy, and he should just do his job and not question company policy!). anyways, they were out of the 1115's and I would have had to get an 1215....so i'm wondering if I should continue to persue this because: a) i'm pissed off and want to walk out of there myself now while I laugh at the manager, and b) because i want this camera/printer bundle, and still at $250~ it's a great bargain!!!

advice...

Finally got it Last printer left in the store...

The rest of this might belong in brag and moan, but oh well

I had some trouble with the discounts tho- the printer didn't show up in stock online because they had it locked away in a back room. So, when I went there, I brought the DELL printouts from the earlier post. The guy at the desk was reluctant to do a PM, so he called his manager, who felt the same way. The manager said that he couldn't do a Price Match with an online retailer, especially since the price from dell was after online coupons. However, he said he would give me a 10% discount. After a few minutes of arguing with him and the guy at the desk, I just said whatever and took the 10%. The manager left and after the cashier rang me up, I showed him the $75 off coupon. He was obviously getting annoyed at me... "See, what you're tryin to do is not right, man," he said, "think of what the world would be like if everyone did this." Immediately "anandtech" popped into my head, and my response was just that I was tryin to find a good deal. The cashier is even more pissed off now. Then, I realized that I forgot about the 64mb flash memory... But I didn't want to test my luck- it might have jeopardized the deal. Anyway, everything went through, the $75 dollars came up as just "coupon #3371." The cashier then helped me load the goods into the trunk of my car.

"Merry Christmas." I said, and drove off with my Printer and Camera.

Hey guys. So when you order from officedepot.com and go pick it up, what do you send as the sales receipt for the rebate?

I would have thrown a fit and asked for the manager again, there is no reason you should have to put up with that kind of crappy attitude while giving a store your business. Tell the little whiner that you didnt make OD's price matching policy, you arent employed by corporate HQ that is making up these $$$ off coupons, why the hell do they even put them in the paper (this isnt even snagged off the internet like Staples coupons, they sent it to you in the damn newspaper) if they dont expect you to use them? Tell him that in your opinion the world would be a much better place if everyone carefully researched purchases before spending their hard earned money.

Ask him what the world would be like if every fvcking cashier in the world harrassed their customers for making them punch a few extra buttons, and calling their manager. If they popped off anymore about it I would have asked for the name and number of the Regional Manager, and the address of the nearest Staples, so you could take your business to a retailer who appreciated their customers.

Of course my wife often wont even go shopping with me for fear I will go off on people like I just described.

That is what I am wondering. I have the original invoice, no cash register receipt. The invoice lists the sale etc, but no mention of any type of deal only the 20% off coupon from OD. I wasn't given a receipt. Hmm....would this do?
