I hadn't seen my chin or upper lip in a while and decided to see how they were doing. Of course, I made the mistake of not telling my wife and she of course got upset (major change in appearance without her consultation she claims).

She managed to keep her opinion of how I look now for two whole days before she finally had enough and called me at work to tell me she didn't like it. LOL. Said I no longer looked like the man she married and she wanted the goatee back. My eleven month old son took it better than her. He was uncertain about it for about five minutes and then went on like nothing happened.

It will take about a week to grow it back. Not sure if I should leave it off just to tease and torment her or grow it back immediately.

That's why I never grew any facial hair other than some sweet long sideburns once in a while. My wife doesn't want me to have any facial hair. I guess I'm just too sexy the way I am.

Conversely, I grew a beard for the hell of it this winter and my wife and other women seem to love it. I thought women hated facial hair (especially full beards).

She claims I look too young without it and sexier with it. Of course, I've also gotten three gray hairs on my chin which can't be good for being only 28. I joke with her that the three gray hairs are from her, our son, and my 14 year old brother-in-law.

No facial hair definitly makes you look younger. I went to get a haircut one afternoon and the lady asked me why i wasn't in school, I'm 27.

If you're trying to move away from the goatee, try phasing it out with a soul patch.

Your wife is not being honest with you. From someone else who did the same thing, I know it wasn't the "major change in appearance" that upset my wife, it was because, um, cough, cough, the usefullness of the goatee

I've got the opposite problem. I've had my goatee for about a year and hear from my wife every day "shave that damn thing off will ya".

One of my Christmas presents to her was to shave it off. The day after Christmas I started growing it back . She was happy for a day at least!

Yep, that too!

If she had to choose between 1 day old stubble and a nice smooth, soft goatee, which do you think she would prefer?

You obviously weren't utilizing your goatee to it's maximum potential.

Sorry I just have to say this: Pics?

But yah, definitely if your wife wants the goattee maybe you should give it to her... A full tummy is more important than some hair growing. heh heh heh.

Btw Curse my asian heritage!

Yeah, but you (I'm assuming) don't have to shave every day. Grass is always greener over there as they say.
