<< You can get the front firewire/usb/audio jack from Evercase. Go to evercase.com and send them an E-mail. They were real quick to respond. I faxed my order in and it took about 4 days to get from CA.

Cost $21 with shipping.

Cool, thanks will have to get this add on if I get the case

Can anyone tell me how to get into this damn thing? Trying to make a new comp to send to my sister and I can't even figure out how to get the panel off. Does the front panel pull off? I tried pulling on it a little and couldn't tell if I was just going to break it off or if it was supposed to come off.

I pushed and pulled on the two metal tabs in the back that look like they would make the side panel come off, but they didn't do anything. If I push or pull them any harder the metal will bend.

I tried downloading the User Guide and the Catalog at the Evercase site, but neither helps.

Help?

(Wish I had waited and bought it without the PSU...just wasted $20 on a power supply I don't need.)

I remembered your post as i tugged on my case for a few minutes, not wanting to do anything bad to it right outta the box. you pull/lift the tabs AWAY from the case, and then slide the side cover back, kinda lifting out of the grove on the bottom side of the case. Hope that helps others.
Awesome case. Ordering 2 extra fans as we speak, waitin on the PSU

<< for those of you that have this case, will the ps support the xp 1700+ or 1800+?

looks like a great deal if it does!
>>

My XPerience is that AMD is very conservative on their approved hardware lists. I run a Sparkle Power 300W PSU for my IWill KK266 w/ an AthlonXP 1800+ running 2xTDK 24x CDRW drives, a 16x DVDROM drive, a floppy, and 3 40GB WD 7200RPM drives off of it. AMD recommends this PSU only up to an Athlon 800Mhz, yet I've been running with this configuration for a few months without a single issue. I think when it comes to PSUs, the general rule is "results may vary". Chances are if you've got a quality PSU (ie. Enermax, Sparkle Power, etc.), you'll be fine at 300W or above.

Perhaps someone who has received their case can answer my question based on what they received:
- For the Evercases, Newegg lists a "300W" P/S but shows a 250w product code with the EverCase: Enhance ATX1125BTA.
- For the Chieftech cases, the Enhance ENP-0730 300w P/S is noted.

Either I don't understand Enhance's products, or nova ova listed the wrong product code... or ("O no, Mr. Bill!!!") nova ova lists the wrong power rating.

So... someone 'fess up. Please!!! Was this delivered with a 300W P/S or with the "Enhance ATX1125BTA" ???

For those who say "you could order from EverCase":
- 'Have to wonder about a company whose online tech' detail is "ATX 12V Switching Power Supply" (Where's the Watts?)
'Perhaps I missed some critical pages on their site, because I was left w/ a lot of questions.

You plugged in the HD and Power LEDs wrong. Flip them around and they'll light up. The HD light is a bright red; hard to miss. The Power LED is kinda faint, though.

The PS is an Enhance 300 watt. There was a link in one of the previous 4 pages of this thread. I originally saw the PS you are referring to on AMD's site but that is not the right one.

Thanks! I missed any earlier reference. The P/S I cited is the one Newegg lists for all the Evercase's.

I wrote Newegg about the conflicting information, indicating they needed to clarify it -- that listing a 300W P/S and giving the product Id of a 250W P/S was a problem as the latter wouldn't be appropriate for an AMD XP. Their reply:

<< Dear Customer

I am sorry that you feel this way and we will out it into consideration.

Thank you very much.
>>

They're sorry that I think their listing is confusing??? Such is life in the slow lane....

I bought one of these cases from Newegg two or three weeks ago. It uses an Enhance ATX-1125BTA, 300 W. You can see it listed on AMD's approved power supply list. It is officially approved up to the XP 1600 (which is what I use). Incidentally, I had been using a three or four year old 250 W PSU before that, without any problems.

Both.

The PSU included with my case was an Enhance ATX1125BTA, it is a 300W supply according to the label.

Just got one for a friend of mine....but i got a SWEET deal out of it as well with a FREE nVidia Case Badge!

The Badge is .99 and you get a $1 off your purchase of the badge with the purchase of the case....well i threw both in my cart and newegg charged me the case S/H as well as the $4 S/H for the badge....called up the CSR and told her that I thought it was ridiculous that i would have pay an extra $4 S/H after paying $15 for the case S/H! She said that I was right and took off the $4 S/H charge! SWeet!

Black Evercase w/ PS : $44
Case S/H : $15
nVidia Case Badge : $1
Combo Purchase : -$1
Total : $59

I've now had email responses from Enhance and Newegg that explain most of my confusion. But first, a mea culpa: I initially looked in the wrong category of ATX P/S on the Enhance site and saw only the BT, not the BTA model details.
That said, the e-mail from Enhance was pretty amusing. (Alas, it's at the office.) It boiled down to:

  • <LI>The 25BTA -is- a 300W P/S
<LI>Since it's quicker and cheaper to achieve new safety-certification by amending an existing unit -- by making the 25BT into the 25BTA -- they did that
<LI>Yes, the 25BT is a 250W unit, and the last two digits of Enhance P/S names indicate their power, so it's... a bit confusing... but cheaper & faster!
<LI>They -are- intending to develop the 25BTA into a new series (the 113x, if I recall properly)

That aside, not all 300W units are the same, and looking at the Enhance site's spec's may be discomforting:

  • <LI>The 300W BTA's outputs are barely half the 460W (ENS-2046) in the major taps
<LI>They're about 80% of the 300W ENP-0730's output -- it's used in the Chieftech cases
<LI>On the other hand, they are considerably above the 250W *BT's outputs
A round of applause to anyone who can make sense of those Enhance "ratings" of their P/S's: I stared and calculated and couldn't match a single Power rating from the unit's listed output amps.
Bottom line: I'd be cautious about the 25BTA's output.
Long ago I had the URI for a comparison of many P/S's and it would be interesting to have an independent evaluation of them now that we're pushing them harder with AMD's, etc.
Thanks to all who helped clarify my confusion here !!

AMD's power supply list doens't get updated very often... you have to wait for them to test each supply with each processor and theres simply so many combinations that they don't get around to them all. a 1700+ draws the same or less power than a 1400 t-bird (1700+ is 1466 and the XPs are lower power).
