I have a (probably) dumb question. I have never used a pre-paid before. In regards to text messaging, it says $0.10 outgoing and $0.05 incoming for each one. Does this get deducted from your pre-paid card, or do you get billed seperately for them as an additional service ?

I would like to know as well.

Yep - return the phone and get back ~$30 so the $100 card can be had for around $70.

"So you can get a $100 refill for $63 or so + tax. "

explain your math here. If the card is $100, and you can get back $25 as you say, that's 75. Where do you get 63?

It works like a regular radio and you don't use any cell phone minutes while listening to the radio. However you do need a headset.
The included in-ear/mic works for the radio. No need for a separate "headset" purchase.

I just got this, but my receipt from Target shows,

SPECIAL PROMOTION
TMOBILE 99.99

T MOBILE 39.99
--------------
PACKAGE SUBTOTAL 139.98
T MOBILE FREE 39.99-
--------------
PACKAGE TOTAL 99.99

ALL ITEMS MUST BE RETURNED FOR FULL REFUND

The full price with NY tax is $108.36

My question is, am I out of luck if I want to return the phone only? That's the impressioin I get from my receipt.

edit: I tried to format my receipt above to make it more understandable, but doesn't seem to be working...I hope I don't confuse anyone.

The way they show it on the receipt is not the way they will handle the refund. In essence, they will figure the package deal as a percentage off. Returning the phone will get you about 28.50 back.

So can I activate this on any phone? And also are there any other phones that come for free, or is it just the Nokai 6030?

I'm looking for a flip-back phone and I want to activate this on a flip phone that I want to buy from a forum member.

Radio? What Radio feature is this? I have a 6010. Does the 6030 have a built-in radio or something?

"Built-in FM radio (requires headset, sold separately)"
According to the other poster it isn't required. That is nice to know..

Interesting:
"Downloadable ring tones, games and graphics are not
yet available for the Nokia 6030 Phone . Please check back"

Does anyone know the $100 carry over that whatever time left from the $100 will extended to another year if we paid $10 before the 1 year expire?
I call T-Mobile PrePaid and the gal said the $100 will disappear after 1 year but whatever you
add, say $10, before the 1 year due will extended whatever left over for that $10 NOT the $100. If this is true then the STI Mobile is the better deal.

My understanding is that unused time WILL roll over if you refill in time, even a $10 refill. A lot of people will be sorely pissed if this isn't true! See here (quoted below):

When do T-Mobile To Go minutes expire?
Unused T-Mobile To Go minutes expire over a given amount of time. That time varies based on the dollar denomination of the last refill applied to your account and/or whether or not you have reached Gold Rewards status. For non-Gold reward customers, unused minutes will expire 30 days from the date you applied a $10 refill to your account, and 90 days from the date you applied either a $25 or $50 refill to your account.

If you applied a $100 refill to your account or have already reached Gold Reward status, all unused minutes won't expire for one year from the date you last applied airtime to your account.

To help ensure that you never lose your unused minutes, T-Mobile will send you a text message when your account is within 5 days of expiring. That way, you'll have plenty of time to refill your account and carry forward any unused minutes to your new expiration date.

I have 1760min at the moment and I refill once a year with $100. My next refill is in this July. (I use my land line a lot.) I've been doing this for 3 years and I usually receive like 1200 min for each $100 I spend.

My mom and Dad still had 300 minutes in December when their first year was about to expire. I added a $10 card and all the minutes were good for another year. That's one of the biggest reasons to even have a prepaid phone (rollover minutes).
