I got problem with my new HD
I put it as backup, hook it up on my Promise Ultra 100 TX2 that I got from WD.
The controller works just fine, since I have 2 WD 200gig attach to it.
The problem, the controller detect the Seagate HD, but WinXP SP1 is not.
Try using "Disk Management", it's not there
everytime boot my WinXP using the Seagate HD, it takes forever to load the Windows.
Try using different jumper setting, still no hope
try using the boot disk from Seagate, but it stuck on the Caldera PC-DOS.


Any idea?

I got the e-mail stating that they were out of stock earlier in the week. I called them today and they told me that they just got another shipment of the Seagate 200gb today and they should ship my order today. Good, I wanna set up my RAID already!

Also remember for Western Digital there is a difference between master and single. Is it the only drive on that channel?

Did any of you look at the drive and read the lable before you installed it to see if it says "OEM" or something else on it? I would like to know if that is what we all got or am I an exception. Mine came from Industry.

i emailed them asking about what i should do about the rebate but they haven't responded. perhaps i'll call tomorrow

Got my email said its on backorder. Sale date was 9\3 will call on sat.:disgust:

ordered the darn drive the 6th and got an email the other day saying they are out of stock! What the heck....it better get here before the rebate deadline or I will have to cancel the order

my hard drive was on back order, and they say they're expecting the HDs on the 15th. so that gives plenty of time to receive the shipment and get the mail-in rebate by Oct. 7 ^_^

So let me clarify something here, is the deal for outpost.com purchases as well? The rebate forms is asking for a UPC from the retail box. Got the shipment here I'm afraid to open if the rebate isn't going to go through. Info in the thread and on outpost seemed to say it's valid but the rebate linked above seems to say otherwise.

Edit: Nvr mind, opened the box and realized it is the retail. First time I ever ordered a Hd online and it wasn't OEM. My bad...

Don't forget to check the date of the invoice. I ordered the 160 Seagate when they had a rebate on it. Receive a e-mail stating they were out of stock and on backorder. The drive finally came, checked the rebate date, thought still good Ok, then decide to look at the receipt, the sale date was past the time limit to buy the drive. Outpost did not put the original order date on the reciept, they put the date on that they shipped.
I had to pay s/h charges to me and pay to return the drive. I have ordered stuff they had on sale about 6 times, each time I recived a notice out of stock on back order. I have to ask myself whats going on
