Gift card should be fine, as long as it's paid up to face value. I bought few gift card last time when it was around 25%, and got all of the cashback as everything was below face value.
BUT! I've seen someone claiming their cashback voided since he/she paid more than face value. Can anyone tell us your experience?
Live Search cashback rewards are not available on purchases of gift cards or gift certificates or on purchases you make from yourself or entities that you control or in collusion with other people.
You will not earn cashback rewards on purchases where (a) you open the store's web site in a different web browser; (b) your browser is not configured to accept cookies; (c) the purchase is not completed in the same web browsing session (not to exceed 24 hours) initiated by clicking on the eligible advertisement or listing; (d) the order is later cancelled or the goods or services are later returned; (e) the store does not report the purchase to Microsoft; (f) the goods or services are acquired for resale or other business purposes; (g) you also use a separate discount or coupon; or (h) you exceed the annual monetary cap on cashback rewards. I'm also wondering what the max $$ back per purchase is. I was told last time it was $250/purchase but couldnt find anything on it. So if I buy a $1000 item with 30% off I'll only get $250 back, or $300 back?

The Cashback Rewards that you are eligible to obtain from Microsoft will be disclosed to you on www.eBay.com and will be equal to a percentage of the final sale price of the first item purchased during an Online Session (excluding shipping and handling fees, insurance fees and other such fees), for up to a maximum of $200.00 per Online Session.
Anyway, so I can actually get 30% off any item? This actually works?!

not sure why all the confusion with the terms when it comes to max cash back and number of transactions allowed. It is pretty clearly spelled out in the terms and conditions.
