I made a small purchase.

I'm waiting until I see it in my cashback account before I make any larger purchases

Hah, search for best buy gift cards on ebay, and there are all these people selling $500 gift cards for $560 and they are advertising microsoft cash back in the description. I was hoping to buy a gift card for just a few dollars more then what it's actually worth.

I also searched for circuitcity, walmart, and staples gift cards....all the same thing, everybody is selling gift cards for way over their actual amount due to the cashback thing.

Can anyone else confirm if it's 3 or 6 cashbacks per paypal account? I already spent all 3 during original promotion, but I have been thinking about eeepc on the cheap if they modified terms to 6.

flesh, it says 6 cashbacks in the terms. Once you reach your limit, Ebay will tell you so during checkout.

And giga, it is against the rules to collaborate with someone else for profit. If MS finds out they pay you nothing and you are out several hundred $$$ in Ebay fees. They might even take it further and file a fraud charge if they've already paid you.. who knows?

As for gift cards, they are also against the terms of the agreement. Thats why there is a 60 day hold on funds. If they find you bought a gift card for the cashback, you get squat. I feel sorry for the suckers paying $600 for $500 gift certificates, lol

What is the max amount you can get back in any 1 purchase and total?

I read this at the live.com cashback site, it says nothing about a limit except $2,500 a year.

Is there a limit on how much cashback savings I can get?
You can earn up to $2,500 in cashback savings every calendar year! We want cashback awards to go to a broad variety of consumers who search and shop on Live Search for their personal purchases. However, if a single purchase causes you to meet and also exceed this cap, you can still earn all the cashback savings associated with that purchase, provided that all other eligibility requirements are met.

Ack!

edit: ok. I see my previous purchases now. but, not my ebay cashback. I'll wait a day and then try again.

Gift card should be fine, as long as it's paid up to face value. I bought few gift card last time when it was around 25%, and got all of the cashback as everything was below face value.

BUT! I've seen someone claiming their cashback voided since he/she paid more than face value. Can anyone tell us your experience?

Damn, to bad I can't find any below face value right now, also I was reading through the terms and conditions and it does say,

Live Search cashback rewards are not available on purchases of gift cards or gift certificates or on purchases you make from yourself or entities that you control or in collusion with other people.

But like you said, maybe they don't mind as long as it's below face value.

Can anybody tell me what the max amount you can get back? Like can I buy something for $3000 and get back 30%, after looking through the terms it says nothing about a max amount except $2,500 in 1 calender year.

Terms

You will not earn cashback rewards on purchases where (a) you open the store's web site in a different web browser; (b) your browser is not configured to accept cookies; (c) the purchase is not completed in the same web browsing session (not to exceed 24 hours) initiated by clicking on the eligible advertisement or listing; (d) the order is later cancelled or the goods or services are later returned; (e) the store does not report the purchase to Microsoft; (f) the goods or services are acquired for resale or other business purposes; (g) you also use a separate discount or coupon; or (h) you exceed the annual monetary cap on cashback rewards. Live Search cashback rewards are not available on purchases of gift cards or gift certificates or on purchases you make from yourself or entities that you control or in collusion with other people.

I guess you can't purchase something, get cashback, and then try to resell it at a higher price, but how would they know? As long as you wait until you get cashback to sell it, I would think you would be fine. They can't possibly monitor everybodies Paypal and ebay account to see if they resold an item they bought with cashback.

I'm also wondering what the max $$ back per purchase is. I was told last time it was $250/purchase but couldnt find anything on it. So if I buy a $1000 item with 30% off I'll only get $250 back, or $300 back?

The Cashback Rewards that you are eligible to obtain from Microsoft will be disclosed to you on www.eBay.com and will be equal to a percentage of the final sale price of the first item purchased during an Online Session (excluding shipping and handling fees, insurance fees and other such fees), for up to a maximum of $200.00 per Online Session.

Anyway, so I can actually get 30% off any item? This actually works?!

It's only $200, I tried buying a $2000 TV to see what it would say, and it said the most I could get back was $200.

Once you click buy it now on an item, it will bring you to another page with a link to the terms and conditions that spell out how much you can get back and everything else, only 6 purchases per ebay account, max is $200 per purchase, and the most you can receive back in a year from live cashback is $2,500.

Also make sure you don't use a sellers 3rd party transaction system, or cashback won't recognize it.....so make sure you read the auction before you click buy.

not sure why all the confusion with the terms when it comes to max cash back and number of transactions allowed. It is pretty clearly spelled out in the terms and conditions.

No, it's not. The one on the Microsoft page does not list any of this, here is link, go to the terms and conditions link at the bottom

http://search.live.com/cashback/howToUse

However, if you go to ebay and look at the terms and condition for the cashback, they are listed.
