I havnt read through the entire thread, but there's a 10% coupon on ebay right now. Does this rebate stack with that coupon? In other words, if I buy an item for $1000, then take 10% off for the coupon, leaving a $900 to be paid, can I still get an additional 25% rebate on the $900 (capped at $200) for a final out of pocket price of $700?

There is somewhere in this thread where it was claimed that the coupon would be accepted without modifying the cash back amount. This is a rebate versus a discount so I don't think "stack" is the correct phrase, but I believe that you can get the discount and the full rebate.

You should give it a try, since you should be able to cancel the transaction before it commits.

Having not gotten the coupon I cannot try it.

Has anyone ever had problems getting cashback when buying a gift card off of eBay? I bought a $500 gift card about a week ago, and I'm in the process of trying to get the 25% added to my Live.com account. I've never had any other problems before getting the cashback applied automatically.

The only thing I can think of is that I was able to get the 25% last weekend when the cashback deal was dead...I happened to get the link back up for a couple of minutes so I jumped on the auction.

Edit: Crap, I just found out that it isn't available:
Live Search cashback rewards are not available on purchases of gift cards or gift certificates or on purchases you make from yourself or entities that you control or in collusion with other people.

But then over at another Hot Deals forum, they state eBay's policy as:
eBay may permit you to combine Cashback Rewards with other eBay promotions, coupons, or gift certificates (each, an ?eBay Promotion?) and may permit you to receive Cashback Rewards on purchases of gift cards or gift certificates.

What gives?

I did it and it actually is 25% + 10% = 35% off.

Your 1000.00 item would be 650.00.

Actually $700 since it's now capped at $200 instead of $250. Also, Deucer, the 25% is based on the original amount not the discounted amount so Old Hippie is correct in saying that it will be 35%. So you're both wrong and right

I just ordered a brand new, 3 year warranty, factory sealed Dell 2408WFP for $528 - 10% = $475 - $132 (cashback) = $343. No tax, shipped free.

$343 for this monitor. Really? I keep looking for ways this somehow won't work. I'm beside myself. At that price, I should get 2. Or hell, get 500 and sell them on Craigslist.

Jesus. Someone pinch me.

I keep getting beat down with it. They emailed it to me, it appears on the front page every time I log in. Even the advertisement to the earthlink webmail I use for ebay had it.

Not sure if anyone can answer this. How come on some ebay stores, when you click buy it now, it just throws you to a screen that says "Commit to Buy this item", but other stores goto a screen where you can enter coupon codes?

Does that mean those stores don't accept coupons at all?

Once you commit, THEN you'll be taken to the regular screen where you can enter coupon codes, calculate shipping, etc. and there's a "Confirm" button that takes the money out of Paypal.

I know it's scary, but I've run into it a few times.

It doesn't have to do with immediate payment email. I just did one that required immediate payment and I was taken to the coupon/shipping page before having to commit. Maybe it has to do with Free Shipping items?

So you need to pay with Paypal... ok fine... But question...

What if you use "Paypal Later" billing service? Does Microsoft Live still see it as a Paypal transaction and still give you your 25% back?

Has anyone tried it?

EDIT: It works! I tested it with a small purchase (needed ink cartridges anyways). I selected Paypal Later which just puts the amount you owe in your Paypal account, and then turns around and pays the seller. You still get your 25% back!

So if you have your eye on a big ticket item you may not have the money for right now, but are worried that the Live Search Cashback offer is going to expire before you have the money to pay for the item, you CAN use the Paypal Later feature and get cashback.

Kind of ironic really.. I mean, you pay for something on credit, get 25% cash back and then use that 25% to help pay off the item 60 days later.... w00t!

Ok... This is weird....

I just got INSTANT cash back from Microsoft.

I received a Paypal payment from kayliea@microsoft.com. I was suspicious when the "Business Service URL" was http://livesearch.com (which is NOT a Microsoft page. It's someone squatting on a URL) but I double checked my Live account and sure enough, there's the cashback for the eBay purchase I made this morning!

EDIT: Must be some deal for today or something! I just got ANOTHER instant cash back for another purchase I made on eBay!!!!! Holy crap! SWEET! I wonder if I got a big ticket item ($800) I'd get an instant $200 back.. Hmm.....

It's just the luck of the draw for instant CB.

I received it on one of three purchases I made on Thursday.

But you're on a roll....Go For It!

I'm getting a little peeved when at 2-1/2 weeks after requesting the cashback be deposited to me (it's time is up and it's available), I still haven't seen it. They're not too eager apparently to reply to my emails either.

Ok I just bought an item, did the cash back thing, got an ebay message saying I'm eligable for $80 cashback!

Getting a Lian Li case for $294 after everything instead of $400 is top notch!

FYI, I was able to use the CHOLIDAYNOV2008 code for 10% off even though this code was not emailed to me. The cashback discount was applied to the original price BEFORE the coupon was applied. Pretty sweet deal. Nabbed a 2nd gen iPod Touch 16GB for <$200 when all is said and done. Will make a nice X-mas gift.

You're right... I just bought something else and this time I got the usual "your money will be available in 59 days."

Odd... You'd think there'd be some pattern or some reason why someone would get instant Cash Back sometimes.

I've been trying to use the coupon, and my Paypal and eBay email addresses do match, and I've yet to get 10% off.

From FAQ
Q: Why are some eBay rewards deposited immediately? A: When you make a purchase that is eligible for cashback on eBay using PayPal, PayPal might decide that your cashback reward is eligible for immediate deposit (see eBay's terms and conditions). For these rewards, check the PayPal account that you used to make the purchase, and see your cashback! For eBay purchases that are not rewarded immediately, your reward will be deposited automatically after 60 days to the PayPal account you used to make the purchase. If you decide to return your purchase with cashback that was rewarded immediately, PayPal will reverse the cashback reward.
