Which one looks better in person? The Silver or Black?

Silver, of course. The silver one looks like this. And many cool doesktop peripherals are using the silver/black scheme. Can't imaging how good my desktop will look like with Logitech Elite keyboard + MX700 + 1900FP... yummm

The only difference I think is that the plastic the black one is made out of is probably black so it will not show scratches like the silver one. Just a guess though.

Exactly how do you intend to get scratches on a bezel less than an inch thick? I guess if youre moving it around and hit something...but at this light weight you shouldnt drop it Well I passed on the Dell and went for the Samsung deal and my monitor already shipped. I ordered too soon to cash in on any of the coupons but at least now I can relax about the warranty and i get the cool pivot feature. But looks like all three vendors are out of the Samsung monitor so the best deal is to go back to the dell now. It is about $50 cheaper so if you dont need the pivot feature you're not really missing out on much.

Ok sorry for the extra post but Amazon.com (via techdepot) shipped my monitor and shipped it ...get this...fedex from CT.....est delivery date is tomorrow...that means the samsung will be here before the dell! And I only paid the $17 cheapest shipping...

Guess that puts an end to the warranty issue. So many people have been asking about their warranty and no one knew but the only way I would have ever looked for that page is if my monitor broke. From a company like Dell, I expect there to be a warranty, and hopefully better than VAIO warranty which I think is the worst in the world, 90 days.

Just got my samsung 191T. 0 dead pixels (woohoo)!. Yes this monitor does pivot in one direction a full 90 degrees. Although I havent installed the pivot feature i think the Nvidia drivers include that already

Does anyone with monitor notice and ghosting with an analog input? I have not tried it out very thoroughly but after first plugging it, I noticed the mouse leaving trails ever so slightly. I did not notice this with any other LCD or laptop.

I will do some better tuning tonight and report back.

Nice looking bezel though. The dell logo and the Ultrasharp logo are not too loud.

One difference between the Samsung 191T and the Dell 1900FP is that the Dell logo is on the top left while the samsung logo is on the bottom left Also after using the silver for awhile I think I would prefer the black as the silver seems to reflect light making the border noticable where in a black one it would not be.

I can confirm that the Samsung 191T has the swivel feature. I was playing with the 191T yesterday at Best Buy.

I think the verdict is still out as to whether the silver or black bezel is better. The black bezel monitors can only be certified as "TCO-95" monitors. While the silver and beige bezel monitors can be (and are) certified as "TCO-99" monitors. If you look at both of the specs for the silver and then the black 191T monitors at the Samsung site, you will see this information. With that being said, I'm using a black bezel monitor and really think black is good for viewing the screen. I guess I don't really understand what comprises of the "TCO" specification.

Also, another potentially "warm" deal on the black Samsung 191T would be to purchase it from Best Buy this weekend with one of their 10% off coupons. $899 - $89 (coupon) = $810 (plus tax if your state charges it).

I have mixed feelings about this dell1900fp. The mouse movement in winxp definitely is exhibiting ghosting. Anyone know if this is do to analog input? Will switching to DVI help?

Playing a DVD is no problem and playing unreal 2003 shows do problem.

Maybe I am just being too picky. Does the samsung 191t have the exact same screen? The specs are identical. the price at ecost is great especially if shipping is included.

J9JM3 (Cool id btw I'm using the DVI connection so its great but I heard the same thing that the analog is not as good as the digital and has slightly more ghosting. I doubt either the samsung or the dell are different in this aspect. Try using DVI if you can since its a much cleaner signal.
