Yes, the shipping is free. However, what is Ecost charging for a "handling" fee when purchasing the Samsung monitor?Shipping is free at Ecost for orders over $500.. this qualifies.

Well, Duh! That's why I said there was a discussion STARTED - not a comprehensive discussion.Unless I missed something, that wasn't much of a discussion at all. It was just some guy stating that the 25ms was a lie. He didn't get any proof or how he came to that conclusion.
What's the deal with charging $928 for this monitor at an on-line E-tailer? Even Best Buy only wants $899 and if you have one of their 10% off coupons, you can get it for $810 + tax this weekend. They are charging $22 handling fee... doesn't matter now since they raised the price to $928...
One store in my area just received the monitor this week. They only had one on display - connected to a Alienware system and one boxed up on a shelf somewhere - but, the salesperson couldn't locate it at the time. Not to mention the BB in my area don't have this Samsung for some reason.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. I'm sure even if you had to take 10 minutes of arguing with the manager, you would finally get 10% off a monitor.Maybe "computer accessories"?
Fant, Thanks for the great follow-up. Granted CRT monitors may still hold some advantages, but the gaps are quickly closing. Sure, I could find a 21" CRT (Trinitron, flat screen) for about $239 - refurbished, from my local computer shows. But, when faced with 55 Lbs. and a 21" deep monitor sitting back on my desktop - it's something that I couldn't tolerate. I'm not a heavy gamer, but use my PC for business applications and Internet use 95% of the time. In this situation, the LCD was the only way to go because I needed to reclaim a major portion of my desk space. The 5% of the time when I do play games, the quality still looks quite impressive. Plus, I have a TV-out feature on my Radeon, so I can use my 32" Wega at a resolution of 1024 x 768 if needed.Originally posted by: Fant
Hmm...the color depth seems to be great on this Samsung. And the only time I notice that the blacks arent true is when the lcd powers on and there is nothing but black and the lcd backlight goes on....other than that blacks look great. And the clarity of the LCD easily overcomes any color depth issue for me. Granted when playing games and turning fast it does show a bit of ghosting but nothing like the old lcds. Wire: that's what I'm doing...I'm selling my Dell 1900FP on ebay (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2060877154&rd=1 to make back the $770 dell charged me and instead I bought the Samsung. But IMO these are the same monitors so if you dont use the pivot feature you might as well save the money and go with the dell.

Does anyone know if the Dell 1702FP is inherently a Samsung as well? Like a Samsung 172T perhaps?
