Obviously there has been some confusion about my request, so here is take "2"

I have contacted a store in Utah which will give me credit towards a NEW phone for my current phone.

I HAVE A T300 RIGHT NOW

I am going to send it to the store + some money to get a NEWER PHONE

PROBLEM: Durring the time from when I send in my phone, and they receive, verify it, and send me my new one, I will not have a working phone.

SOLUTION: I want to find someone who has an old voicestream phone they aren't using so I can use that phone with my SIM card so I can still have a useable cell-phone while I'm "in-between phones."

I'm looking for someone here at anandtech that has an old voicstream phone, I don't care what model, just has to be voicestream. I am not looking for a new or recent phone, a Nokia 5190 or an old Moto TalkAbout series phone will fit my needs perfectly. It doesn't have to been in prestine condition, just the phone, a battery, and a wall charger. I can email you a UPS label to send the phone to me with, and I will return the phone when I get my new phone (1-2 weeks). I will even throw in a petty PayPal payment to make it worth your while if you want it.

I am not trying to scam anyone, my heat is under "ptyes" and hope to get a favorable post on heatware after I return the phone.

Sorry about the confusion that some of you may have.

Sorry, I don't have a phone for you but just out of curiosity, how much credit are you getting and toward what new phone?

I'm getting a $100 credit towards a new phone purchase. I have a T300 w/o camera, which isn't bad.

Bump

That is a good deal...did you have to negotiate for that discount or is that a standard Voicestream offer to all customers?

Hell, I need about $1,420.19 to pay my taxes. Anybody want to loan it to me for just a month? Interest free, of course. Check my Heatware, so you can see I'm legit. I'm listed under Taketh Emoneyandrun.

Pytes, you gotta come up w/a better scam than this!

Actually, I should clarify. I contacted this online store. For my phone they were willing to give me $100 credit toward a new phone.

I'm not scamming. I'm looking to get a loaner phone from somebody. I'm not looking for like a Moto V60g, a heavly used 5190 would suit my purpose fine. I DO NOT WANT A NEW, LATE-MODEL PHONE. I don't want to have to pay $200 to replace a phone I borrowed from someone in case I drop it.

I'm looking for an old Voicestream phone someone retired months ago and is not being used.

No one say u are scamming.

I need an old, WORKING, voicestream phone for about a week or so while I send in my current one for credit towards a new one.

However, it does NOT sounds like a right logic to me

Your current situation

1. U send in your old phone first for credit towards new phone u ordered (I believe it's in transit on its way to your house?)
2. You have NO PHONE to use NOW.

Should it work like that instead ?

1. they send u the new phone.
2. while u are still using your old phone
3. New phone arrive, u send old phone back for credit.
4. At least You have a phone to use NOW.

Don't leave a fellow techie w/o a phone!

Then why u send your old phone before receiving a new one ?

I believe voicestream will lend u a phone for a minimal cost if u are good customer, right ?

PROBLEM: Durring the time from when I send in my phone, and they receive, verify it, and send me my new one, I will not have a working phone.

SOLUTION: Reverse the process, can u ?

It doesn't matter who u are dealing with. Ask them to send u a new phone first, so you do NOT have period of "NO phone".
In order for them to make sure u send back the old one, just give them your CC or checking a/c # on hold temporarily.

Simple as that.

I went into my vstream store and got a crappy loaner for free when my phone was being fixed.

that is also a feasible solution.

Did you even read my corrected post? I'm not dealing with T-Mobile. I'm dealing with a cell phone story in Utah I found on the Internet.

My sister has an old Nokia 6190 she might be willing to sell, it works.

How much are you willing to offer including s/h?

Edit - It's a genuine VoiceStream Wireless (T-Mobile) Nokia 6190 which requires YOUR SIM card for it to work.

Thanks for the offer, I'm looking to "lease" or "rent a phone for like two weeks.

Anyway, a good-night bump for all!
