I found this on pricegrabber but I am not sure if it is the right one for the ZE4101. could not get much info..... Someone please verify.

Circuit City has Centon 256MB DDR2100 laptop memory for 59.99 after a $20 MIR. When I was at my local store earlier today, I saw both Infineon and Samsung TCB0 chips. I know the Samsung will work in the HP/Compaq laptops. Same price on CC's website so you can do a local store pickup if you want to.

tchinhe, I found that memory last night and it was priced $58.00 I guess DDR prices are falling.

I called Kingston to see what the difference was between the KTH-OB6200/256 that they listed for the HPze4101 and sell at $108.00 and the KVR266X64SC25/256 for $55.00 They said the more expensive RAM was specific for this notebook (HP ze4101), and that the cheaper one was generic (didn't know you could build a notebook :confused and not guaranteed to work and could not be returned. I believe the specs are the same, I think Kingston is trying to get the average consumer to buy the more expensive RAM :|

I personally think the $55.00 RAM should work fine, I am going to wait a few more days before ordering to see if the prices fall any.

Crucial lowered their price of 256MB to $56 (with a 5% off coupon floating around). I was thinking about getting a stick of Kingston but their regular 256MB PC2100 SODIMMs are still $90, it looks like the $50 one is their ValueRAM line. Not sure if paying a few dollars more + sales tax is worth it for Crucial.

I have used Kingston Valueram in the past on desktop systems with no problem watsoever. Plus they have lifetime warranty anyway. Might go ahead and buy a couple of them, just waiting for one of u guys to say u did - hehe

I just installed my 128MB Kingston Value RAM that I got from Kingston today, It works fine in my HP ze4101
The last time I checked Kingston's website KVR266X64SC28/128 was $27 shipped free, and KVR266X64SC28/256 was $50 shipped free.

Well, that sucks!

I have the ZE4200, so I'm also considering a memory upgrade from 256 to 512. The Crucial route seems like the way to go - as opposed to buying from Kingston and not being able to return the product. About a week back, Crucial's 256 MB module was $72 before discounts, so it does appear that the price has dropped somewhat.

If you read my previous posts you will see that I ordered the Value RAM from Kingston, it does work in my ze4101. When I called Kingston before I ordered they said it would not be returnable, that differs with what the website states...30 days for returns. I think Kingston is just trying to use scare tatics to get people to buy the more expensive memory. :disgust:
