I am a huge fan of Left 4 Dead 2. Probably my favorite multiplayer game. Today I was playing Dead Center Campaign and I was shocked at how much more difficult they made it. I typically play on Advanced, but me and a few others voted for "Normal" after failing twice. It was STILL ridiculously difficult. Basically the make is same, but CONSTANT hordes spawning and CONSTANT specials and tanks. I guess it gives me some thing to work toward.

Possibly playing the weekly mutation?

edit: weekly mutation is still "follow the liter". There are modded servers where the horde/specials spawn rate are increased. It's actually kinda irritating when you are looking for a nice game and keep getting modded servers with unlimited ammo, god mode, low gravity, wall clipping, and a host of other things, only to leave that server and get another just like it.

Could be. All other levels were fine, but the finale was INSANE! Even on normal.

I wish the option to not allow mods would include modded servers. I hate when I get a stupid server that allows all sorts of stuff.

Yes, I've noticed it's generally harder than it was when I played it last a couple years ago. Advanced is pretty difficult now and my group was getting wiped repeatedly in it. Before it seemed like advanced was pretty easy and expert was extremely hard. The difficulties seem a bit more balanced now.
