Update #1 There is now a $30 off $150 printable email coupon available (over on the largeWallet) for in-store purchases

The in-store deal: Maxtor 120GB 7200 RPM Hard Drive (#498405) $179 - $20 instant savings - $30 MIR - $30 off $150 Staples email coupons = $99.94 at Staples (add a $0.01 item to reach $150 for coupon)

Update #2 I've heard that some Staples store are giving out $20 mail-in gift card when your order total is over $150, if this is offer in your local store add $20.06 worth a item before you use the coupon to keep the over $150 and save a total of $50 off your order. I'm going to buy the the Maxell 100 pack CDRs for 27.94 before the $20 MIR.

The deal : Maxtor 120GB Hard Drive $159.94 + $27.94 = $187.88 - $30 Maxtor MIR - $20 Maxell MIR - $30 off $150 Staples email coupon - $20 mail-in gift card = $87.88 Total.
It possible that Staples might not let people use a coupon and give them the $20 mail-in gift cards too, so check before you buy. (YMMV)
FYI : There's no $20 mail-in gift card in the L.A. area. :frown:

If you want to check to see where in your area the Maxtor 120GB is in stock you can call 800-333-3330 (option 3), it's a once a day overnight update system for staples items, the CSR will check the store for you and save you a lot of time and phone calls.

How about using the $30 off $100 & the $10 off $50 (i.e. $40 off $150)? That would bring things down to $89.94

also... does that "instant savings" require anything.... or is it assosiated with the actual term "instant"... like when i go to staples and buy this.... the 20$ will be automaticly deducted. i know how companies use words to their advantage sometimes... so i was just curious

uh.. this could be really really hot if we could figure out how to use the maxtor rebate too...

its for 30 dollar as well ... Both seem to require the origional upc

Any idea's, that would make this thing 89.94-30=59.94

I'd say thats hot if there is a way to get both the stables and maxtor rebates.

Staticfly, the rebate that is on Staples website IS the maxtor rebate. Its not a seperate one that Staples is offering, they are just pointing out that Maxtor has a rebate on this drive and gives you a way to easily print out that rebate.

Can you stack those 2 coupon codes? I've had trouble with stacking them in the past.

Thanks Mysticman!

Rebate says, "...at Staples.com only".???

Also could someone explain the math to me(or was it a typo?)

Price of drive is $160. Wouldn't you only be allowed to use the $30 off $150? How did you get "& $10 off $50"?
And does Staples actually allow stacking coupons, or is this where people keep calling and calling Staples until they get a CSR that doesn't know any better?

I agree. I suspect the best you are going to be able to do with this is a hundred bucks net (plus tax).

Just installed my 120GB WD from the Dell deal I got for $76 and change delivered and after rebate, so will pass on this one.

I too think this is an attempt at stretching things a little too far. One instant rebate. One maxtor rebate. One coupon. That much will float fot $80 off $179 to arrive at $99 which isn't bad but not flaming. There was a thread some time ago that had this drive (maybe 5400 rather than 7200 but that I don't remember)
for $61 + shipping. And as for the earlier 3 rebate deal on the 80 Gb, a lot of people did not get that to float.

wait.. you don't seem to understand. The 10 off 50 is stackable. Its one of the only stackable staples coupons i've seen.

Agaricus & Bill00 and any newbies who don't know that the MysticMan doesn't post information that's not True. I have verified that you can stack the $10 off $50 Staples coupon that been flowing around for about a week with any other Staples coupon.

And No! the Maxtor 120GB 7200 RPM Hard Drive is not currently on the Staples web site, since the sale doesn't start until Sunday and this is a new item these's no need for staples to have it on the web site today. When they do add it to the site then I will post the link, as always.

don't see why you couldn't do 2 drives. just have to send the rebate check to another "household".

Rebate says, "...at Staples.com only".???

Yup looks like online is the only way to order it to comply with the rebate. Normally the Staples rebates specify all three ways (Staples.com, Staples Direct, and Staples Stores) separately on each rebate so this one only saying Staples.com probably means only online. Thanks for pointing this out.
