I think Wilson shut himself down. From a friend who was in the Clink, the interceptions were from: two off a WR in the rain (bad ball handling) and despite heavy winds, Wilson kept going for long plays instead of throwing shorter passes less likely to be screwed up in the wind. It isn't an excuse for Wilson's poor calls here, but on the flip side, I don't think it was the Packers D being that amazing. The Seahawks offense TRIED to lose that game for the first 3 quarters. No, the first 55 minutes.
The the Packers were held to the 16-0 lead speaks volumes about the Seahawk's D, imo.
I think Wilson did play awful, but the Packers were also putting great pressure on him and forcing long, uncomfortable throws, which really isn't his zone. I think he was going for those because the short game was tied up.
I agree that two of those passes weren't really his fault--the deflections; except the first one was off of a bad throw by Wilson. should have been caught, but it was a tough catch.
That being said, I was very happy to see him not give up on trying to make the big play when things were still going so far south. The Pack was swarming, and he didn't have many options. Better to try and make something happen than eat about half a dozen sacs.
I'm not saying this is what he was thinking, but those deep INTs weren't really a bad thing for Seattle, considering how amazing the D played. Maybe it gave Wilson some confidence to force those bad plays. Everyone knows he's one of the smartest people out there, so it has to be something more than him just making poor decision after poor decision. Maybe there was some confidence in him from what the other guys were doing. Maybe that's also what Carroll and the Defensive coaches/squad were telling him throughout. He really never looked shell-shocked--he just played awful for 3.8 quarters. That's a huge difference, imo.
