Woke up at 5am to get to Staples at 6am to wait until 7am. Got mine though and pricematched it down to $150 from the BestBuy ad! Thanks for the ad, just printed it out and took it in for the deal.

DAMN good deal on this one Palm Vx and a GPS unit for $150...

I had to drive 30 miles to my nearest Staples to score this deal. They only had two bundles total and I got one. The third guy in line was so HOT he didn't get one he was calling the staples lady all kinds of names.
GM wouldn't price match because of all the freebees.
However, I did use a $30/$150 Coupon for a total of $181.89 tax included.

One interesting note: The GM didn't know how to make all the free items free so he rung them up at $0.01 each and took the $.05 out of his own pocket. So it looks like I'm sending in the $45 rebate for the GPS cause it shows I bought it for $0.01. Thank You Staples.

That saves me from going to buy a seperate GPS unit, copying the receipt, and taking it back. Ohhh! Did I just say that?

Looks like an hour left in the west. Good Luck on the deals.

I got to Staples around 6:30AM. They opened the doors at 6:45AM. I quickly swiped two packs of free cdr's off the entrance display and headed towards the palm pilots. After 20 minutes of waiting for a sales rep, I received my Palm Vx w/the free extras. There were a total of 5 Palm Vx's but only 3 of the 5 came with the GPS units. I then waited another 20 minutes for the manager to come pull the HP C215 digital camera from the inventory room. The fun begins here. I told the cashier that I wanted seperate reciepts for the Palm Vx and HP C215 digital camera. Then I attempted to pricematch the Palm Vx with BB ($149), but was shot down due to the value of the free items. I then attempted to pricematch the HP C215 with BB ($99 before MIR), but was shot down due to Staples new policy of pricematching. I then used the $30 off $150 coupon for the Palm Vx and the $20 off $100 for the HP C215. The total after MIR is $249.99. It's unfortunate that these employee's were concious of the new policy or I would have walked out with:

Palm Vx
HP C215
Palm Essnetial 1000 Programs
Targus ThumbKeyboard
Deluxe Stylus Pen
GPS Sattellite
Hard Case
USB Charger and Hot Sync

for $190 total!!!

I still consider this a sucessful after-thanksgiving day scam though. :-0

I went to Staples and they had only 3 or 4 bundles, though lots of Palm Vx. I was the 3rd after the bundles were out. So, finally, I only got those free web cam, CDR and memory. I can't believe they had so few bundles in stock. Or might be most of them were sold before today and were re-purchased today again. (I did pre-buy all I want from circuit city, I should have also bought the Palm Vx bundles from Staples too )

Got to Staples at 6:30 and was 11th in line. There were very few Palm Vx bundles. didn't even think about the freebies cuz I wanted the Palm. Got all the Palm freebies except the 1000 apps CD, but the manager said to come back with the reciept when they had them in stock and I'd get it. So those that didn't get all the Palm extras, I suggest going back and getting what's yours.

BTW didn't try and price match on the spot but going to try Amex Blue. One thing though. When called Amex to get my pricematch process started (this is a first time for me) they asked if the store where I purchased the item had a pricematching policy. I told them no, not that I knew of (a small fib of course) so I'm hoping they honor it. Just wish i didn't have to wait 2 weeks to find out. Oh I also like the Amex feature of emailing the scanned receipt and Pricematch ad.

Here's to a great success. Now the rest of my shopping is online baby. Hate those freakin lines.

Well, I am in Minneapolis, so I dunno if there is a Staples around, but I noticed a few things yesterday...

Officemax is running a special on the Palm for $199 with a $50 gift card. I had them price match to Best Buy's price, so I got the Palm Vx + $50 mail-in gift card for $160 after tax. Since I always need office supplies, this works out to be a warm deal with me basically getting the Palm Vx for $110.

The manager said it was the last one in the store, but I'm pretty sure they aren't selling terribly fast at $199, so if anyone else wants in on this deal, it shouldn't be too hard. Plus I didn't have to deal with the whole Best Buy aggro that's in the air today.

Me and 3 other friends scored BIG time on palms
We got

3 Palm Vx fro Bestbuy at $149

7 of the Palm Vx bundles with accessories for $199 at staples

We hit up a total of 2 bestbuys and 2 staples to get all those palm's. Time to hit up ebay! =)
I was there at 6:30 am for staples to open. Picked up 4 Palm Vx bundles. Use the $30 off $150 for each. Then We went to another staples and picked up another 3 bundles again using the $30 off coupon. Then around 10am, we hit up Bestbuy and picked up the Palm Vx for $149 with the $17.99 PRP plan.

So I'm going to ebay off the staples palm's and keep the bestbuy palm because it has the 2 year warranty. =)Thank you anandtechers!

Thanks to those who ruined all the deals and just wanted to sell them on Ebay (these guys should have never said thanks to anandtech as this forums is not for this purpose) and let all those who really wanted to get one for self-use leave the store with NOTHING.

Unfortunately greed and the right thing mix like hot oil and water. :| Blame Best Buy or Staples for not policing their limit 1 per customer clause.

i don't really see it as hogging. There was 4 of us. 3 would be christmas gifts for other people. That leaves 2 for each person. We each keep one and ebay off the other. Not like I bought all 10 myself and ebaying off the other 9. Or broke some the 1 per customer rule. I went to 2 different bestbuys and 2 different staples to get the palms. The early bird gets the worm. Oh well. But I guess I do see your point. Oh well, you win some and you lose some.

I didn't participate in any of the Black Friday sales this year because I already bought stuff I needed (ie a Palm m505, burner, monitor, jukebox, etc) throughout the last 12 months. However, yes, I do believe if you wanted the stuff you should have dragged your butt out to the stores early today like everyone else, but I also believe those same people should buy one or two and leave it at that. That includes other branches of the same store...

I didn't end up getting the hotest deal on this palm Vx (which would have been to PM staples to BB's price and then get all the freebes), however, I didn't get a good deal considering what I went through...

I chose to go to BestBuy first to secure my Linksys Router+NIC, Dreamcast VMU and primarily to grab one of their Palm Vx and have it put on hold for me (I was thinking that in order to PM at Staples, there needed to be some ins stock at BB, which since I was holding one there was...) Anyway, when I got to Staples they were (big surprise) out of the Vx deals, along with about every other deal I wanted there. So, I went back to BB to get my Palm Vx for $150 (not a bad price), and to get my rebate on the GF3Ti200 card I'd picked up earlier that week.

Here's the good part: When I get to the CS desk to purchase the Vx and get my rebate I ask them if they will match Staple's deal for the free items that come with the palm. I was amazed when they said YES! So, I went and found the items that BB had that matched the ones on Staple's ad (the software, travel kit (for the charger), hardcase). I almost had a Visor compatible GPS unit, but then the clerk noticed that it wasn't the right one (I was just going to sell it on Ebay anyway). So I ended up getting some of the free items with my $150 palm VX. I still can't figure out why BB would ever PM staples' deal, especially since the staples price was $199, but I guess I got very lucky!

I went to Staples first to try to get in on the multipack deal. Didn't manage to get one, and the people who did were not all able to get all of the items in the package extras. They were taking names and addys, and said they would try to order the missing parts and have them shipped to the guys who missed out.

Then I went to CUSA, after seeing the best buy still had huge lines. Got CUSa to pricematch the Vx, and they were running a special on the GPS kit and the Targus pack. So my total (after rebate ) will be $179, not to bad.
