Staples has a 14 day low price guarantee, no need to buy 2 drives to get lower price.Originally posted by: mboy
Bought one last week. Backed up a DVD no problem with it.
Bought another one this am and will most likely return it using last weeks receipt.

Did you ask the store with two left to scan the box to verify the 89.99 price?? Stores in the same area shouldn't have different prices, or ask they to PM the store that had the drive for $57.50.Originally posted by: Jaxidian
Just called 2 local Staples. One had them for that price but was OOS. Another had 2 left but they were 89.99 just like online but without the $20 IR and he wouldn't match the other Staples clearance price but did offer to match the online IR.
So with the in-store deal, YMMV.
My guess is the guy either didn't scan it or checked the wrong model.Originally posted by: Jaxidian

I did ask them to scan it to verify it and they did verify it. I did ask them to price match it but they wouldn't because it's already on clearance and the item it would be pricematched to was also on clearance. I could have tried harder but didn't have the time.
Yes, you have to cut a piece out of the box with the sticker on it and send that in. Or, if you're very careful, you can score the box with a razor blade or a sharp knife and peel the top layer of cardboard off of the box without cutting all the way through it, if you follow me.Originally posted by: Descartes
...when they say they want the original UPC code, do they want me to actually cut the thing out? On my box it's just a sticker on the side, and since I can't take it off without ripping it I'd have to cut it out of the box.

Buy 2 and pay for one of them with cash and have them ring up the 2 drives separately and get 2 recieptsOriginally posted by: ParatoOptimal
tyoung88,
Can you get two rebates on the same reciept to the same address.
I suppose if you use a friend's address they would just think you picked it up for him. Wont they try to baulk at this?
Thanks

Very few, if any optical drives are faster than 33.
