So I guess all the US ones going to be Samsung ones. I don't even have to look at the pictures. It's common knowledge that Sharp is the best when it comes to very small LCDs. Sharp was pretty much the pioneer in this field.

Damn, was debating whether or not to buy a PSP when my mom goes to Hong Kong or pre-order one here. But if the above is true then I'm going to import one.

So the N64 dominates the PS2? Hmm..

I believe the DS to be a very bad design 2 small screens in a verticle alignment doesnt work very well. Plus it atleast 1 generation of gaming hardware behind PSP. I believe it will have the same fate as its brother N64 (no games). Just look there are more launch PSP games than there are DS games now and then and its been out for awile. And purely for gaming, the touch screen is really nothing to do with gaming. Also Nintendo is planning on a Gameboy 2(cubeish graphics) soon so the DS's life is going to be short it will go the way of the Virtual boy. So I will gladly pay the extra hundred bucks for a device thats better in every way except battery life and has a much longer lifespan(DS will be dead in 1.5 years).

I wonder what the life span of this system is going to be.
how many of you are so in love with your ps2's that you bought another one even after the sony effect broke your system.

This time even the sony reps are aware that the design was made purely for asthetics in contrast to nintendo's design for touching and interaction.

but, yes. like the nokia ngage. I will provably come across one for cheap when some schmuck realizes that there's not much to it.
It's fun to get something like that when it's for the fun of it, as opposed to for the fan-boy-ness of it.

Replying to your own posts!? I think once people get their hands on one and see what it can do peoples mind will change and their will be a huge demand for these. I doubt you will be able to pick one of these up on ebay without paying 50% more.

Yeah, think I'll wait. Last thing I want is to buy their bundle with non-playable DEMO's and a 2 year old movie that everyone who gave a damn already bought on DVD. What a ridiculous bundle and WAY too high of a price for a portable.

preliminary reports are saying the button sticking problems are fixed and that the US version may have a better battery. It was definitly worth holding out seeing as its not looking like Region 1 movies would have worked on an import psp

My thoughts exactly. PSP doesn't have any games that are good for pickup and go. The damn thing doesn't have a standby mode or anything! It sucks battery's in 3-4 hours (I know because my roommate has one) and the analog control is a damn joke. Considering the only game he has is Ridge Racer, analog is pretty damn important.

Last but not least, it gets VERY warm, my hands were sweating on it after 20 minutes of Ridge Racer, by which time I was pretty bored anyway so I guess the 'sweat-factor' works out with how long people will usually play it.

The screen is beautiful and the graphics are nice though. Unfortunately, since it doesn't have a screen protector (ala clam-shell SP and DS) his screen already has small scratches on it from just carrying it around in his bag.

Well, thats my review. I'll stick with my PS2 and SP...that is until Castlevania comes out for DS, cus then I'll be forced to buy one.

Once again, Nintendo capitolizes on quality games, not state-of-the-art hardware.

Have you forgotten about hundreds of GBC and GBA games tha play on DS? And PSP, is not PS2 in a handlheld form. Nowhere near. Neither is DS a clone of N64.

Stay away from bundle.
I'm going to get just the value pack if possible.
There is only one game I want to buy - Untold Legends.
If I can't get PSP during first shipment, I'll just buy the system only next time.
