RED!!!! w/a black light (or 2) for accent! Paint the inside of your case.....maybe a nice neon green, or orange? Guaranteed to make eyes bleed on whomever is sitting left of you at your next LAN party!

No.

The inverters require 12VDC, and only put out enough power for one light. Several peeps have already tried the 2-on-1 trick, and been greatly disappointed when only the ends of the tubes light up, and they end up paying more (because of shipping a second order) because they tried to go cheap.

just search ebay saw one with one inverters.

defiant1 thanks for this super cool deal!!!

my cathodes came in last week and i just them hookedup...i have a silver lianli 65usb case - the blue light just rocks!!!

your post on the power supply cables was also useful...i plugged into the red and black as per the wire color code and nothing worked!!

after reading your post i realized that yellow was the one i need to hook up to... thanks for the tip.

i will be going back to get some more 4" cathodes as well....

Now you have a pretty good idea of what my case (PC-65) looks like! I have to get another (stronger) power supply with more output, and molex connectors before I attempt to add any more lights...etc to my case. You're absolutely correct! The blue looks stunning inside the silver of the case. I'm thinking about getting a couple of small blacklights to add for accentuation.

I just recieved info about the svcompucycle cc light kits and the manager told me that they will be getting inverters that can run 2 lights at once soon. Also, they will also be selling seperate cc lamps and accesories just as hobbytron does soon. Looking forward to this.

Did SVC say when they would start selling that way?

Are the CCFL's at hobbytron red or pink??
Is the Acrylic Tube necessary or not?

I got another e-mail from SVC and they said that they will get the inverters in about 4 more weeks, so i think that is when they will start selling that way.

Defiant1,
What seperate products do u think i will need to purchase to run a 12" blue cc with a rocker switch and that it will connect to an atx molex connector? Thank you.

Im not defiant but ill answer that one for him. For that setup youd just need the blue cc itself, the ricker switch, and the inverter. You may though have to splice and add some wires to hook up the switch depending if hobbytron gives you the extra wires to run the switch or not. Also, I would get the protective acrylic tubing. These cold cathodes are VERY fragile and I have already broken one when I used to have them without the tubes.

Does anyone know if the red light puts out a red light or is it more of a pinkish light? Also, is the rocker switch used to turn the light on and off?

Most red cathodes produce a pinkish. I haven't seen a red one actually produce a red tone. Yes the rockers are for turning on and off the light without any problems when the computer is on

Ive never used a cold cathode before so if someone can answer some questions for me Id appreciate it.
First, if I get the tube, PS, and switch from hobbytron.com will I be able to install the light without any more parts/modifications?
What connector is on the tube itself, what connector is on the PS?

Also can someone PLEASE post pictures of what they got from Hobbytron and how it was connected. Im reading impaired I need some visual help here.

I found some good pictures of the kit HERE
but I would still like to see some pictures of the individual parts...

The only "red" red CCFL's i've heard of are the ones packaged in a red acrylic tubing, thus masking out the pinkish tones
