they messed up my order before, they did fix it, but it took them a while. they never answere their phone and often forget to put everything you ordered in the box.

just yesterday i went to pickup some cables and 3x cold cathodes. i placed the order on theri computer there, and the guy walked out with a box of my stuff. but they had put in only 1 cold cathode instead of 3, luckily i checked! i was thinking that's probably the cause of their resellerratings. had that been a package that went out it would've just caused more headaches for the customer. i'll keep buying from them locally since i can check.

ohh not to mention they've got this weird rise at the front door that i always trip on! i've been there 3 times and tripped 3 times, haha!

1. I placed an order w/ them at 11:30PM on a Sunday nite and decided to change my mind so I e-mail them back 10 minutes later telling them I wanted to cancel my order. well, the idiots still shipped my order knowing damn well they had plenty of time to cancel it. so I then e-mail them back telling them I was pissed and that I was going to do a reverse charge on my credit card because they shouldnt have sent the order in the first place. - their reply? "do what you have to do...." - which just happens to be a popular e-mail reply according to several peoples' stories on Resellers Ratings.

2. I decided to give them a second chance and ordered some Artic Silver 3 from them just because they had it dirt cheap. well, I place my order on Dec. 2 and I think the package finally came on the 27th of Dec. unfreakin' believeable........ had I known it was gonna take OVER 3 freakin' weeks to get such a simple order then I damn sure wouldnt have bothered w/ them clowns in the first place.

oh well, never (I repeat NEVER) again.

I really enjoy watching that guy's video reviews. he seems to cram in alot of usefull information in his videos in such a short amount of time.

I wish more and more hardware sites could do the same thing.

This thread will turn out to be another, svc is sucks thread.

It's understandable if they messed up on your order, but if you're going to cancel your order, make up your mind in the first place.

I live across the country from SVC and have placed several orders in the past months, all of which have arrived in 2 days.

I placed an order on a Tuesday for some cables and paid additional for fast shipping to assure that I had the cables by Friday so that I could build my new machine. They didn't ship the cables until Thursday - so I didn't get them until Monday. When I sent them an email requesting they refund the difference between the shipping I paid for and the shipping I received I was told that "the price you paid for the cables was so low that you won't get a refund."

So basically because I paid their posted price I should pay for a more expensive shipping method even if I didn't receive it?

To quote Cartman.... "Suck my b@lls"

Not one penny will go to those @ssh0les.

you mean to tell me that you've never ordered something and decided to change your mind?

in my case, I wouldve understood why the sent out my order had I cancelled my order like 12 hours or so after placing my order but come on, a ten minute window from the time of placing the order to the time of cancelling it?

on top of that, like I said, I placed the order late Sunday nite which you damn sure know that they werent exactly there anyways packing up my stuff to get it ready for shipping for the next morning. that being that means that they had more than enough time to check their e-mail to find out that I cancelled my order in the first place.

so you want more complaining?

I like how they pride themselves by their infamous "most products ship the same day" phrase... yeah, whatever. try more like "maybe your product will ship today, maybe it'll ship in two weeks." - at least I'd have to give them respect for being honest.

For those who have had problems with SVC, I understand where you are coming from. I also had problems with my only order from SVC in November last year. I did receive the following email though from one of the owners.

Matt,

Customer feedback is one of the most important tools to increase the
level of service we can give. I thank you for spending the time to
explain exactly what aspects of your experience you were unhappy with.
We strive to process shipments faster, more accurately, and to offer the
highest level of service possible every day. However, with the high
growth rates we are experiencing, we have gotten behind on emails or
orders at certain times. As we get larger and more stable, all of these
should very soon become issues of the past. As you can see we are
hiring (add on front page) and we are revamping our shipping department
with new equipment. Hopefully, the service will only get better from
here on out. I appreciate your patience in the matter. As one of the
owners, I will always make myself available to customers, and you can
feel free to email me or pass around my email if you or another customer
have comments, inquiries, or problems.

Heh, these horror stories are amusing

I guess they must give preferential treatment, b/c I've placed no less than 10 orders through them (I can check through order history from Yahoo wallet.) and only had 1 incorrect shipment (1 18'' IDE cable mailed out next day) and 1 cancelled order (they cancelled before shipping). All my other orders shipped that day or the next day. I never order on the weekends and I always make sure I order before 3pm EST to give them sufficient lead time. The reason I don't do any ordering on weekends is b/c if there isn't a warm body to get your order when you place it, the chances of it getting fvcked increase 10-fold. Same holds true for trying to cancel or replace something. I always make my orders worthwhile to save on shipping, so that may be something to do with it as well.

They may give less attention to someone (they can check your order history with them in Yahoo wallet btw) who consistently places $3 orders, demands 1st class service, and consistently cancels, but thats just a guess. If you didn't research your purchase enough and need to cancel, you can always refuse shipment or return to sender.

yeah, you're right. especially about the part where you say that orders like my Artic Silver should deserve first class service. after all, I was only the customer.

what was I thinking???

Anybody tried their sk7? I have Athlon 1.4 G and it reaches 76 C (38 C Ambient) on AMD approved heatsink in summer.

I have three case fans one blowing in from front two sucking out right next to CPU. It still does not work.

Was happy with all 3 orders.
To me, their service is comparable to newegg.
Would buy from them again.

I've ordered about 6 times... 3 of the times they messed up and on 2 of those 3 their 'fix' was messed up too.. They did eventually fix it and I will of course order from them again just because their prices are so good but it is annoying... Always keep in mind that it may take ~3 weeks to get your order straight if they mess it up.

Sounds like they screw up an occasional order, often enough to realize they need to hire more people to do the job right. On the other hand, I sort of like management that maintains the proper staff ratio to prevent problems from occuring to the point where it becomes a fire drill.

But the proof in the pudding is how they handle customer complaints and problems. If they refund, pay for return ship on bad stuff/wrong stuff, upgrade shipping to cover slow processing, etc, then they're ok. If the problems persist past a reasonable "we're hiring to fix it" period, then they're not.

I also love the order and then cancel and they ship it anyhow routine. I've dealt with more than a few resellers who took my order, ten days later they still hadnt shipped it, I asked them to cancel it (i'm NOT rewarding that sort of operations), they tell me it will take some time, and two days later say they're sorry but it shipped before they could "put in the cancel". Uh huh. It was more like "quick, ship this guys order out now so we can tell him it already went and we dont have to cancel it!". Congratulations, you just made a couple of dollars off my order, but i'll never, ever, ever buy from you again. Ever.
